While on an outing to Zürich and attracted by the beautiful images of food (what seemed to be real Italian pizza) we found online, my 2.5-year-old son and me went in search of food to this restaurant rather oddly divided across two premises across the street from one another (leading to interesting scenes of waiters running to and fro across the street carrying dishes prepared in one kitchen or the other). We were given a place outside, but weren't served for a long time, which became bad when more people arrived and started smoking cigarettes - something we as parents don't want to expose our son to. To top things off, though, two groups of people arrived after us - equally without reservation - and those people were served, while we were utterly being ignored.
The food may be fine here, to judge by the place's popularity, and though I appreciate how friendly the pizza chef was to me and my boy, I found the service downright either neglective or rude. After having waited for more then 30 minutes without even having been shown so much as a menu or asked about what we'd like to drink - notwithstanding evidence from other later arrivals that this was possible - we had simply had enough and upped and left.

Read moreDuring my recent visit to Don Leone, I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and generous portions of the food. Every dish was excellently prepared, making each bite a delightful experience.
However, the overall experience was marred by the excessive wait times. Even for something as basic as water, we found ourselves waiting unusually long. Additionally, our drink orders were forgotten multiple times, suggesting a potential issue with staff being overwhelmed.
The restaurant itself was packed to the brim, which not only impacted the service but also affected the ambiance. It felt more like a place to leave quickly after eating rather than a spot to linger for additional drinks.
My suggestion would be to consider removing a few tables. This would give the staff more space to move and attend to guests more efficiently. I believe that such a change could positively impact service quality and encourage longer stays by guests, ultimately reflecting in better tips and increased sales.
In summary, Don Leone has the potential to be a top-notch dining destination, provided some adjustments are made to enhance the...
Read moreThe food was very good, and the wine delicious, however the experience left us very annoyed. Having checked that a table for two was available, we were served our first course, followed by our pizzas and were still enjoying our wine when we were asked to vacate our table less than 55 minutes after our arrival to accomodate another customer. The couples on either side of us had arrived before us and had finished their meals, were not drinking, just talking yet we were asked to leave. Our waitress was terse to the point of rudeness and in fact got our order wrong, which we accepted as we are actually quite relaxed. I have never left a bad review before, but felt we were unfairly treated as out of season tourists. I am sure if you are a local resident you might enjoy a...
