As so many others reviews say, the staff is incredibly unfriendly here. They just ruin the atmosphere, make guests uncomfortable and act bitter and resentful. When spending almost 8 CHF for a baked piece of flour and water, I am sure people would rather appreciate a more welcoming approach. It's our local bakery and the bread/gipfelis are good (but not excellent, especially for the ridicolous prices), so we have come quite often and - every - single - time - for the past year the staff was rude and impolite to us. Multiple times the bread or croissants after being bagged have been thrown at me on the counter. One time one employee, after the usual bitter and rude approach, had me pay, did not thank or interact anymore, turned around and went back into the kitchen, leaving my purchase behind the counter where I could not reach. I called her back out and after half a minute she re appeared and basically threw the bag at me on the counter and left again without saying anything or even looking at me. Baffling behavior. I'd rather go to Denner at this point.
