I found this restaurant by accident and was quite impressed with the 4.8 rating and the fact that their kitchen is open until 10 PM (a rarity in Taipei where almost every kitchen closes at 8-9 PM). But what happened next was a complete disappointment.
The restaurant is quite small, on this day there was a group of people celebrating someone’s birthday (as I understand, the restaurant workers themselves were in this group). There was incredible noise and laughter like in a zoo or circus, it was simply impossible to be there, and besides us there were a couple of other customers. I approached the waitress to tell her to ask that noisy group to calm down and speak quietly, the waitress only said HAO (good) and did nothing.
We ordered soup, oysters in sauce, pizza and two drinks. One of the drinks was lemon tea. God, for about 200 NTD they served regular cheap bag tea (kinda Lipton) and served granular sugar with a COLD drink.
The soup and oysters were quite pleasant and tasty. After 45 minutes of waiting, our pizza was never delivered even though I asked about it twice when it will be ready. I ended up canceling the pizza. I understand that the bald Italian chef either forgot about the pizza, or, judging by his tired expression, he was just too tired and lazy to make it.
The most disgusting thing is that no one apologized at all and that noisy campaign continued to make noise… Well, I just paid and left.
Disgusting and unpleasant experience, one of the worst I've been in my long stay in Taiwan. If you want Italian chef-made pizza after 9 PM, go to Black Pepper, they are also open until late, and at least they really...
Read moreVisited this place for my bday night. The waiters were helpful and friendly (English friendly as well) One highlight was when they surprised me by singing the birthday song while serving the tiramisu
The place is perfect for gathering with friends and family. It has a warm and cozy ambiance that creates a comfortable atmosphere. But some of the music seemed somewhat out of place for an Italian restaurant
The price of the food was reasonable considering the quality. I tried the tomato mussels and lamb chops. The mussels were large and paired well with the spicy oil, which added a delightful kick. But for the lamb chops, I didn't find anything particularly surprising about it. It’s more like home style dishes in my opinion
Overall, my bday night at this place was nice. However, I did notice a slight issue with the speed of plate clearing by the waiters. While I didn't mention it at the time to avoid bothering them, I believe there is room for improvement in...
Read moreSuch a friendly and welcoming Northern Italian restaurant in Taipei. Visited two times and greatly enjoyed the gracious service, the delicious food, and the wonderfully warm and cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend the blue cheese gnocchi, very rich but not too heavy. The pizza is one of the better ones I've had in Taiwan. I also enjoyed the steak and the mussels which were expertly cooked. I quite liked the spiciness of the red sauce for the mussels. I likes the lasagne as well, easily the best I have had outside of NYC or Italy. They have an excellent wine list and also offer happy hour drink specials at 5:30 when they open for dinner service. Lastly, shout out to their manager Momo, who is incredibly friendly, helpful, and simply a great person to chat with. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for real Italian...
