Atmosphere 7/10 Located on 3rd floor of Proverbs Design Hotel. Run by a Japanese bartender (clearly a trend in the industry, lately). You will see a lot of Japanese bartending elements like special shaking techniques, liquor display and mixology style. Bar has a dark industrial style. Nice back bar. The storage room is positioned in the middle of the backbar, impacting the atmosphere if you sit at the bar. Music volume is pleasant
Drinks 7.5/10 Recommendation: Bubble Kaikan Large menu with pictures and a lot of creative signature drinks. Most drinks have a whole history chapter for their creation process. The boba cocktail is a risky one, but tasted really good! Even the boba was well done. Aviation sour was ok. Glassware and garnish is rather simple. No coasters
Service 9/10 As usual in Asia - high service quality. Team speaks english. They also serve complimentary snacks. Water served immediately. Hotel guests have a special promotion during happy hour (5-7pm). Prices are above average for Taipei
The menu and business card mention “Asia Best 50 Bars” - but I couldn’t verify the information or their ranking through...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful bar, the drinks are amazing and the bar staff is fantastic! Strike up a conversation with bartenders if you get the chance and try exploring all that they have to serve, you will not be disappointed! Personally, i had the opportunity to chat with three notable bartenders, Nero, Richard and Mason. If you want some classic cocktails that have a flair of old school styles talk to Nero, he'll take care of you. If you want something that has a bit more flare and a taste of something new and different, talk to Mason, he'll put together something simply amazing. And finally if you want something thats a bit stronger and has a more robust taste, talk to richard, he knows just what you need without you knowing it. Words alone cannot describe how wonderful of a...
Read moreLovely, intimate hotel bar with great cocktails and service. Music was folk and indie rock which was unexpected but nice, definitely added some gravitas to the atmosphere. Enjoyed the house cashews too and though we didn’t eat, the food coming out looked good especially the cheese and charcuterie platter. They only have one red and one white by the glass so probably not a good spot if you love wine and your companions want cocktails. Beer selection was good with local and overseas options including craft IPAs by the bottle. Disappointed that their French 75 was made with Ruffino Prosecco instead of champagne which tasted off but other than that, would...
