Weirdly Named, Godly Delicious!

As a New Yorker, we've got a pretty good understanding of the sandwich arts and let me tell you; Fa Burger's got it going on. Growing up in boroughs of NYC, I'd often go into a deli and ask for a Roast Beef sandwich with Russian Dressing. I'd get a sandwich on a nice roll/sandwich bagguette filled to the brim with boarshead brand roast beef, lettuce, tomato, cheddar/american cheese, salt pepper and russian dressing. This sandwich lives in my soul and being. I've traveled the world and I've yet to come across a taste of my childhood like i did when I was taken to Fa Burger.

The roast beef, slow cooked to perfection. Their bread, airy, soft, and incredible to chew. The rest of the "acutremonts" of the sandwich only lift the sandwich from great to amazing. To top it all off, they even add a little bit of jus to it, sealing in what's like a kiss from the beef gods of beyond.

Tried the smoked karubi which was basically an Asian Pastrami. The sandwich itself wasn’t bad but also not particularly special. Average my Western standards, above average by Taiwan standards. The operation was what was a bit weird to me - very stingy SOPs. No water service, not even self service, all beverages including water need to be purchased. But you can see the staff refilling their water bottles from the filtered tap. Something as stingy as this really makes me not want to support businesses like this. I get trying to make revenue from beverages, but water should be a god given right.

When preparing the food, they only use one glove, so it’s interesting observing them heat up and assemble the food with one hand. This resulted in my sandwich being improperly proportioned. Quality has dropped, meat is less juicy, and taste is only so-so nowadays. What happened? Hope this is not the new standard at Fa. Tried a side of fries today, very disappointing. Embarrassing small portion, and not cooked well. (Photo) Staff pointed out their boss told them to not serve more than 100g fries for 150$. (I counted 13 fries, not kidding) Got a refund ok the fries, would rather have had a decent portion. Tip: skip the fries, and get a portion of Nachos next door at RollFive, the taco place.
