ibuki 日本料理餐廳 -台北遠東香格里拉 — Restaurant in Da'an District

This is our second time visiting Ibuki as we were here last year on vacation and wanted to try it out. Both times now have been hands down fantastic and I cannot recommend more!

Our wonderful host, Show, was incredibly helpful and assisted in a few translations on some of the dishes we were having. Shout out to him for a great experience and feeling welcomed back like old friends.

The star of the show as always, is Chef Danny, who creates such beautiful and harmonizing dishes. Since we have been here twice, we noticed that there were subtle differences between the flavors and ingredients used which we really appreciated. He even recognized us from the year prior!

Late nite snack of Sashimi at closing. Rosy and Show were perfect. fish and scallops were perfect flavor and texture. Chef was able to spend a moment cutting for me. Wasabi here is freshly ground. This means you eat a bit with your chopsticks. No need to drench it in soy as it’s not the powder. Beautiful 150mL of sake was ideal. This gem is in the Shangri La Far East hotel. A birthday lunch on a weekday in December. Great food. I particularly enjoyed its Unadon. I found that the eels are often too soft in most of the Japanese restaurants in Taipei.
