Suggestions : Better searing on the steak, it needs a thin crust. Deglaze the pan, butter, cream, pepper for a better pepper sauce, this one tastes like the the one found at cheap steak places. Place the sauce on the side, in a separate container. Vegetables should all be roasted, it adds flavor. Onion pairs very well with steak Garlic, instead of dried slices, put a whole bulb of garlic in the oven with olive oil, it should be tender when ready and spreadable. Use cherry tomatoes and roast them. The mashed potatoes is fine. Green beans also pair very well. The diced onion and bell pepper were ridicules and not very tasty...
Presentation is fine, but get rid of the plastic salt grinder, it looks too cheap... Plus the salt inside is moist because of the humidity in the air.
The soup was really underwhelming, it was a creamy potage, but very watery. Make add a potato inside to add some consistency.
The handmade bread tasted bland, The butter is just salted, if I were you I would do it a little bit fancier.
No more sugar with your tea please, and it's too sweet.
The dessert was some kind of cheesecake with mango custard and crushed oreo on the side, weird. I think the custard should be vanilla only, the mango flavor clashes with the cheesecake.
In all, it tastes like ready made supermarket food with a good presentation, but it's not enough, it feels scammy.
Also the table's shape with the dirt stuck on the edge feels...

Le Sage is the best Western style bistro we have ever found in Taipei, and at reasonable prices considering the high quality & quantity served (TWD290~490 for most entrees, some steaks higher at 800+). The interior is spotlessly clean with tasteful decor and some cozy seating nooks. Service is friendly & up to Western standards: all entrees come out at one time; the chef speaks English & often stops by our table to ask us how we like a particular item. Entree portions are generous, so we always get a box to take home for a second meal. In addition to steaks, they have delicious crispy chicken items, fresh catch, lambchops, a generous porkchop, risottos, and deep salad bowls topped with a choice of protein. Some nice side specialties include their house-made soup du jour (our fave is pumpkin, some days it's a rich tomato); a red bell-pepper sauce served with the entrees; and the set meal desserts, which are elegant little mousse slices flavored with local fruits and plated beautifully with fruit sauces & green-tea whipped cream. Could say more but you just...
Read moreI really do think the prices are overrated for the quality of food you get. I ordered a ribeye and onion rings which was around 1200 NT. I ordered a medium rare ribeye and it was overcooked and sinewy. I can easily get a better ribeye at TGI Fridays / The Diner (which have prices similar to LE SAGE). The worst part was the Onion Rings actually (200 NT). These are clearly pre-purchased frozen and fried. Dry and extremely non interesting onion rings with NO sauce....
