I really wanted to love this place. The idea of "Taipas" really excited me, Taiwanese / Spanish fusion? Sign me up!
Unfortunately the current menu does not at all reflect any Taipas. Instead, it's a simplified version of tapas, with mainly fried food and pinxtos (which is defined as items with bits on top of slices of bread here).
Food was decently inexpensive but also mediocre in taste and presentation. The service, however, needs work. On a Friday night, there were one waitress, one cook, and a bartender. There was another guy floating around. Not sure about his role / duties.
Table was not once cleared proactively, no one checked in throughout our meal, and there seems to be tremendous confusion with my use of apple pay to settle my bill.
I really wanted to fall in love. But instead, consider this a cautionary tale of its mediocrity.

Read moreBooked the place after reading all the good reviews and was really disappointed mainly with the services (4-5 staff in the kitchen, 1 behind the bar and 1 on the floor, however halfway through no one), the food was okay in terms of taste and presentation.
1: Obvious lack of overall kitchen/bar and floor management. 2: The bamboo was missing from the dish - super veggie platter, no explanation. 3: The food came out really quick but the drinks were taking way too long from the beginning, later on, a glass of white wine for nearly 30 min after ordering?!?! 4: Checked at reservation, on the day, at the restaurant, three times still didn't get the birthday celebration dish as promised. 😓. After all the experience above, just can't be bothered to even ask, especially since there was no one on the floor.
If this is the result of the labour shortage, I understand; but I think it is more the lack of training, management and teamwork. Hope it will improve and keep up the good work like what...
