This place is tiny: 7 bar-style seats, and maybe 2 tables for 2 each. Decor is simple, clean, perhaps a bit cramped overall. It was a super hot day today, and they probably had the air con on strong, but it was still rather warm inside.

I got the 雙醬雞排蛋包飯 (twin sauced chicken omelette rice), but selected just the 紅酒醬 (red wine sauce) instead of including the other choice (南瓜醬, squash). The rice itself was plain (i.e., not cooked with sauce or flavouring) and average -- not with the fancy "Q" Japanese rice texture one might expect. The red wine sauce tasted fine but seemed to lack depth of flavour; there were a few mushrooms in it as well. The chicken was super tender and actually quite nicely done, though the thigh was skinless (i.e., not pan seared crispy).

And then the egg: it was fried gently in an omelette pan, but left alone for most of its cook time, then beautifully presented with a twist before draping it over the rice. The result was a fluffy egg, uncooked (or technically, barely cooked) on the top, and pretty decent. BUT ... it bears mentioning that this is NOT the type of omurice where the egg is rigorously scrambled while cooked gently: you don't have those "scrambled" granules of egg scattered amongst liquid egg, like you see in the Japanese YouTube videos!

Overall, it was fine, and I may come back again, but it's not a rendition of the omurice that would make me crave frequent returns to this restaurant.

(Do note that take-out prices are $30 cheaper than eat-in. I don't know how take-out portion or presentation compares, but I would expect the egg to be less optimal during your walk/travel to wherever you end up eating it.)

Also, they only take cash. So...

Food: 2 stars. Service: 5 stars. Ambiance: 3 stars. C/P: 3 stars.

We ordered the grilled chicken with two curries and the Japanese beef. The Thai green curry was very average with a few slices of baby corn - nothing special. The laksa was really off balance - the shrimp paste was too strong and not enough acid and heat to balance it out. The burdock side dish was too sweet. While the service was good, I would not recommend...

Got takeout here (which nets a -60nt discount so only 150nt total!) and it was soooo good even just at a warm temp! Got the hamburger omurice with two sauces being laksa and green curry, and they were super well spiced, flavorful, and deeply satisfying 😋 awesome comfort food! Bet it's even better hot and eaten in the actual restaurant, but that generous discount is too tempting to not take advantage of 😆 definitely...

Japanese omlette rice place with a taiwanese spin. Order the hamburger rice platter with the beef and tomato sauce (Bolognese sauce) and you won't be disappointed. The curry sauce is also very good if you like curry. The beef don and pork don is more of a hit and miss. Take out is 60NT cheaper than eat in price so a lot of people just do the takeout. Get here early and grab a seat by the window and you can look at the scenery.

store has limited seating + their takeout is cheaper than dining in! the omu itself was soft, but somewhat thin and not particularly fluffy. the rice is just plain white rice (contrary to what you might expect from typical omurice which may be ketchup/ butter rice). somewhat disappointed with their selection of sauces and rice, but the meal was still decently tasty.
