Visited another location last year and both the food quality and service were way better. Very disappointed this time.
Arrived at 7:30pm on a Sunday and ordered the dry noodles with braised beef, steamed veggie dumplings, and a beef pie/box). Starting out, the service was subpar. I was directed upstairs, and as I asked whether condiment are available upstairs, I was told yes and hurriedly led up with an attitude, later discovering they weren't available, with only a condiment pouch for chili sauce. The veggie dumplings were tasty, and the dry noodles had a nice spicy-sweet flavor, complementing the sauerkraut well. However, the braised beef portion was disappointingly small, with only four thin slices for $180. The beef pie came out with the thicker middle part of the dough still raw. They sent it back and came back with a better cooked one (still a bit raw…).
Would likely not visit this...
Read moreWe ordered quite a number of dishes, tasted above expectation and at a reasonable price. The down side is that we waited outside queueing for 45minutes, other than that, the food are good. Both 小菜, pig ear and cucumber are deliciously appetising. Dumpling are juicy and adding with soy sauce makes perfect match. Fried rice with meat is top class, had to say the cook did good job, much better than many high class restaurants even! Beef soup with dry noodle is good, except soup is a little less to finish at the same time with the noodle. Vege dumpling with a little vermicelli filling also tasted good.
Environment was a little cramp as there was quite alot of ppl, service is ok, eventhough rushing but they still try and take time to be polite, respect that.
Overall recommended, would love to come back again when there is not...
Read moreI had very fond childhood memories of the renai store but i have to say that this store is slightly below the quality of the original. The half beef half tendon sliced noodle soup had good soup flavor, an appropriate amount of taiwanese sour veggies, and great noodle texture. The slight downside was overly soft tendons (maybe some like it that way but i like a little bit of chewy texture) and beef that was too thinly sliced (but that is their style). We had the veggie grilled pancake and that was quite good (i remember loving their beef version but didnt go with it this time). My wife has spicy and sour sliced noodle soup. It was ok and also arrived luke warm so we had to ask them to heat it up a bit. Lastly, we ordered spicy dry wontons and they were good but flavoring is slightly on the sweet side. Overall still a...
