上吉燒肉 — Restaurant in Da'an District

This is a smart restaurant. They know how to position themselves and provide right atmosphere to their customers. They want to be a neighbor restaurant where neighbors think about eating meat they will think about coming to this place. Manager is very social. He will let you think he is your body. Servers are friendly. They grill your food right in front of you and chat with you at same time. They want you to feel welcome and comfortable to talk to them all your problems. I went there when they just soft opened so they said there is no time limit in this restaurant. I am not sure if that is still the case since they are getting popular. Of course, you will not just sit there and order nothing when you finish all your orders. You basically will keep ordering drinks or more food and talking to the servers. Food quality is above average. However, volume can be small. It will cost you around $1500-$2000 for you get full. When you keep ordering, sometimes you lose track of your bill. I'd say it's quite an average restaurant, not sure if it was the server who didn't cook too well or it was the meat, we weren't amazed.

Small space packed with staff because every table is served with a staff to cook for you, that's a hard part for a restaurant. I give stars for trying.

They were doing a survey but I didn't feel comfortable asking private questions because they ask everyone, I did refuse. Maybe it's the way they ask questions.

We finished in an hour but they rushed us to leave in the end, maybe we only spent around $1800 per person.

If heaven had a flavor, it would taste like this place. I love eating meat and this place didn't disappoint. I was visiting Taipei and wanted to GET MY MEAT ON so my friend recommend this place to me. When I took a bite of the wagyu, for a second there, I thought I had mistakenly eaten a slice of butter because that thing just melted on my tongue. The service was awesome, they did all the grilling for me so I just sat back and relaxed. This place isn't big, but it's not too small neither.
