I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Eslite Hotel and it was a great choice to stay at while staying in Taipei. The Eslite Hotel is a boutique hotel in the Xinyi District. It has its unique style to it which gives the hotel its charm. I was not able to ask what the bunny (rabbit) motif the hotel embraced, but whatever the reason, it worked for me.
By the time my friend and I ventured to Taipei, we had already stayed at three other hotels in two other countries and were feeling the financial pinch. I happened to learn of the Eslite Hotel trough a blogger and made my decision to book our stay in Taipei there based on their recommendation.
Check-in at the hotel was easy and fast. The staff escorted us to our room and shared with us what came with the room. Low and behold upon entering the room, I almost giggled like a school girl with excitement. The room had a HUGE bathroom area with a separate shower and a HUGE tub. I am not sure if I missed reading about the tub whether if it came with the room when I booked it, but damn, I was surprised. This was definitely a good omen.
The room comes with a balcony. The room we had was a city facing room. I like city views from my room, but the hotel is close to the street and a train track.. Therefore, noise from both can enter your room. However, the room comes with blackouts drops and curtains which are controlled by your bedside so you can turn your room into "forever night"and drown out the sounds from outside.
The hotel has a fitness center. The fitness center is small and best used for cardio purposes. The fitness center has lockers to hold your items as well as a separate shower/toilet with towels for your convenience.
The staff at the Eslite is impeccable. They were prompt in providing service to our room and were always friendly. The concierge and the front desk attendants were helpful in providing directions to locations and overall information about the city. A special thank you to Alex, one of the managers at the hotel whom we engaged in conversation during our stay.
The hotel is not close to a MRT line, but, taxis and Ubers are very inexpensive that you should just use those instead.
Thank you Eslite Hotel for making my stay in...
Read moreEslite is still a bright shine hotel that you would love to stay. I’ve been there 3 years ago before the pandemic. I notice something change since then.||The hardware maintenance and the room design is perfect and nothing to complain. It is totally a 5 stars hotel set up that align with the rest world class elite fellows.||One thing I need to high light is the linkage with Eslite Spectrum. It provides everything you need and you would enjoy during your stay. It’s amazing I could get to the film theatre from my room by taking a lift and leave right before the film start.||However, it’s a wake up call to the hotel. My experience is slightly below my expectation compare with 3 years ago. I feel the hotel is not yet ready to welcome guest back after COVID. I arrive the hotel at 2PM but I still not getting my room until almost 4PM. I book by Hotels.com as Gold member which suppose to have early check in. I understand this is common practice that not issuing a room until normal check in time if your booking made from third party agent. Well, this is by no means need to suffer from late check in.|In addition, I love to have my dinner at their famous restaurant “In Between”. Unfortunately, it is not open on daily basis nowadays. I can’t access this restaurant on the day I visit.||The amenities are also worth a mention. Eslite now serving Aveda instead of L'occitane. Both brand are a high quality brand and I think most of the people won’t feel this is a kind of degrade. I personally prefer the latter. L’occitane make me feel more relax and help to get in sleep while Aveda is more refreshing one. |||All in all, Eslite still offering the best service among its peers. The staffs are nice and helpful. The hardware are even beloved. Hoping the management will take a look onto the operation detail and get that...
Read moreBook lovers will adore this hotel as it is run by the famous Eslite book store chain. In fact next to the hotel is a 24 hour book store. I was curious to know if a book store chain can run a hotel and delightfully they did it well and elegantly. ||We were given a room upgrade to Deluxe King which was a pleasant surprise. Our rooms command peaceful lake views with swans amidst a backdrop of Taipei skyscrapers and 101 tower from afar. The bathroom is luxurious and spacious. In the next day, we had a very attentive housekeeping staff who rearranged neatly our own toiletries. ||You have options for breakfast and the Mee Sua was flavourful and simply the taste of happiness. The breakfast will make you start the day with energy! On one occasion when my husband went for breakfast alone, the staff asked him if he needed to pack breakfast for me. The hotel staff are always attentive and prompt to answer your requests. ||They were the only hotel I came across in my travels who were able to help arrange quite independently my DHL pick up and shipment back as I bought cartons of books. ||The hotel is definitely for the literary crowd. The only disappointment was the book regarding the design philosophy of the hotel in the room is thoughtfully written but not for sale nor can you bring it back. It would have completed the stay...
