This lively shop has ample seating on its two levels. Except for the two-seater by the entrance door, and maybe the two-seater near the counter, the tables are otherwise comfy and well situated.
They specialize in congee but also serve an assortment of other mains and comfort foods. My favorite dish and go-to is their 水蓮 (crested floating heart) which is a refreshing, lightly crunchy veggie with a subtle spinach/bean flavor.
Based on my exp and some other reviews, the shop sells out of congee bases and other ingredients throughout the day, so my first recommendation is to come during the early half of lunch/dinner service.
Congee texture is smoother than the usual Taiwanese congee which is more akin to soup and bloated rice, though not as silky and gruel-like as Cantonese style congee. Flavors are well infused and more complex than at casual congee stands. They don’t automatically provide white pepper, but it can be requested.

Food: The fried turnip cakes are a MUST ORDER and the 老皮嫩肉 (contrary to the name, it’s fried cubed egg tofu soaked in light soy sauce) as well.
The fried intestines & green beans dish (四季肥腸) was flavorful and had the perfect crunch. However there was still this slight taste to the intestines as if it wasn’t properly prepped.
There was a delay and then mixup with one of our drinks. However, despite the small mishap, they were quick to fix and courteous about it.
All in all, I would definitely come back again for the fried turnip cake...

I will say that the only annoying thing with this place is they are inconsistent with their portion size. Sometimes your bowl is only 2/3rd or less. If it is even less, you really feel like okay they are really ripping me off. So this has only started happening since last year but it is very very noticeable. The price has also increased at a rate faster than similar restaurants and general inflation itself, however it is still passable. If it continues though, I will no longer be a customer here. As of now it is still okay and the product taste is...
