Luxury hotpot with amazing service, very fresh ingredients and prices to match. We loved this restaurant and their attention to detail. When you sit down you’re given an apron, finger wipes and if you’re wearing glasses a lens cleaner. Is that kind of place with that kind of attentiveness (I was thirsty and so my glass was immediately changed for a bigger one).

Onto the food we ordered the tomato and the sichuan hot pot soup base - both were delicious. The meat was excellent and could be ordered as a whole or half place. Be aware that it’s an expense place - in terms of value for money the pork was the best meat The portions for the string mushrooms were very generous. I’d also recommend the cucumber (yes in a hotpot) and the fresh noodles, not because you get many but because they were so good. As well as the dishes you order you’re given unlimited cold noodles with carrot, edamame beans, and seaweed.

Hai Di Lao is up there with Din Tai Fung - places that taste great but are only for special occasions.

Part of what you would normally be paying for is the art of marking fresh noodles at your table and the extra services (getting your nails done, shoes cleaned etc). This can’t happen now because of Covid-19. So be aware of this...

I suppose since I'm a foreigner my opinion isn't very important, which is OK... However I HAVE eaten at dozens of hot pot restaurants throughout Taiwan, including some of the more famous and expensive ones, as well as non-franchised establishments and some ordinary ones as well. I'll make my point : I feel this is one of the best hot pot restaurants I've tried. The service is obviously the best I've experienced at a hot pot and maybe in any restaurant in Taiwan. I know many people have complained on here that the soup is boring or ordinary. I must disagree. The soup foundations are EXTREMELY flavorful and really aromatic and delicious. My two favorites are the chicken with pig stomach soup, and the tomato soup. The performances are exciting and add to the fun environment. Two flavors of unlimited Häagen-Dazs definitely help keep a smile on your face when you leave. It's definitely expensive, but I do think...

Nice performace albiet a little loud, food is tasty, kids get a toy... overall it's a good experience and worth the higher price. I like that they even have a play area and manicure stall for waiting guests! One thing I didn't like was that they assign a server to hover near you to help you with everything... and I mean EVERYTHING. I felt like my every bite was being monitored. I think I had my water refilled at least 10 times in one meal. It got to the point where I didn't even notice our server sneaked up and filled it...and thinking my cup was still 2/3 full, I tipped it too much and proceeded to accidentally dumping half of it on my lap and face.
