Well, lucky us, we were here today to tour (my Senior High School). Principal Hsin’s residence. It’s a well kept and maintained Japanese House. There are a lot of displays and videos to remind my good old seniors high school era. Principal Hsin believed it’s teachers’ responsibility if students skip classes (because teachers did. It teach well to attract students to go to classes). Back then, the most important task for Senior High School students was the annual college entrance exam. Thus a lot of schools totally ignored courses such as music, painting, physical education such as swimming and running (mountain running). Hsin Chu Senior High was known for flunking music course. Moreover, we were lucky to shop around the Sunday afternoon market...
Read moreLovely historical Japanese-style buildings in the middle of Hsinchu. Staff were helpful. At the front is the school principal's residence with central living area and moveable screens to change the layout of the house. There's a cafe in the building at the back. Service was rather slow. The hot and cold drinks were good (with a similar menu to other local cafes), but you pay a bit above par. There's a squat toilet at the cafe and you have to take your shoes off inside both buildings. The cafe seems to be favoured by students studying. Quiet ambience with a record player on repeat providing the music. Highly recommended for a change of atmosphere while...

I ordered fried tenderloin, seafood/squash rice noodles(w/soup), roasted threadfin, soy source braised chicken/chestnut, season vegetables and two plates of side dishes. most of them are really tasty. However, these food may be more suitable with drinks. A little bit salty to me. The major downside is restroom. It is separated from main building and you have to share slippers with all guests. Besides, a bad smell comes somewhere in this area. it should be a better way to...
