Tsai-Ji Tofu Pudding — Restaurant in Hualien City

This 豆花 dessert shop is such a AWESOME FIND in hualien!!! The name of the shop is 豆花, you would think that that is their best dish. But trust me, the highlight here is definitely the 薏仁牛奶, sweet barley soup with milk!! I totally pushed my beancurd and grass jelly combo away after trying the barley soup. 🙊

Gosh I have never in my life tasted anything like this before. The combination of the milk with the super soft barley, coupled with the fact that it was served cold, it was seriously the best thing I have had in awhile. Truly mindblowing 😙😍👏👍👍🌟🤩!!! Took one mouthful and went to heaven 😜. Silly me was still thinking that it sounded weird and was initially a bit hesitant to try it, ha ha ha 🤓.

Went back again the second day to have it, and looking at the video is making me salivating and crave for it again. YUMSSSSS!! 😋😋😋🤤

There are limited seats available but most people who come here usually order for takeaway so not really a problem I guess. THIS IS A MUST...

I'm so super impressed with this place at downtown Hualien. It looks like it's nothing, but packs such a big punch when it come to their tofu puddings, sweet barley soup, and grass jelly desserts. Personally had the shaved milky ice with grass jelly, and tried my friend's tofu pudding with tapioca ball. They were all super good!

What blew me away, however, was how nice the lady boss was! She was sitting at the corner of the shop doing her administrative things, and was recommending us to some of her "top favourites" menu items. She subsequently brought us a bowl of sweet barley soup for us to try, and that was super unexpected given how many other people were there in the shop. We ended up chatting, and she recommended us some dinner place as well!

Supposed to open at 1.30pm and so we arrived at 1.30pm. The gate was slightly opened. we could hear the staff working inside, but it was only until 1.50pm that we were allowed to enter. there were over ten people waiting outside under the hot sun, and when the gate opened, the queue was quite disorganised. it didn't help that the staff were rushing to prepare and take orders that we didn't feel welcomed at all. not sure if it was only that day or it happens everyday.
