About thirty minutes walk from the Hualien train station. Very close to downtown shops and restaurants, and about a ten minute walk from the nice Hualien night market. The front desk staff speaks enough English to check us in and give us a brief description of what's available in the area. I can't say the rooms are super modern, but they were clean and not too cramped. The bed was definitely firmer than those normally found in western hotel chains, which could be a plus or minus depending on personal preference. What impressed me the most was their breakfast. Everything tasted freshly made, not the usual reheated frozen stuff that I've come to expect from hotel breakfasts. You can see the kitchen staff hustling and bustling in the background to keep the food moving. On the day I stayed there, they had among many other things, bacon, hash browns, eggs, various Taiwanese buns, soups, soy milk, cereal, fresh local veggies, and some really good chow mein. I haven't stayed at any other hotel in Hualien, but Just Sleep isn't a bad choice to stay if you're in town for a day or two to explore Taroko Gorge. Thanks...
Read moreMediocre hotel with good location. Ok decor and average service. Actually service I received was bad, not helpful.
I can directly 2 nights in elegant Silks hotel Hualien. Forgot to reserve shuttle service, staff turned me down explaining 3-day advance notice must be made to take the free shuttle, without giving other suggestions. No is not the best answer for customer, when necessary it must not be the only answer.
Check-in was ok, staff was a bit wacky and out in another world. Parking is not the best, it’s 3 blocks away from the hotel.
Crowded space, small room. I had a family room for 4, with wooden toys. Room is really ok, like IBIS hotel, but I paid 7200NTD/night. It’s 3 times the price of an IBiS.
At this price, I will not return again. For 3000/night, maybe.
But I do not see any good reason why this hotel should deserve...
Read moreGoogle says "budget hotel" but I say this place was luxurious! More costly than a usual hotel but definitely worth the price, the room was very clean and the bathroom was also clean. I hate dirty places so I really appreciated the cleanliness. Heineken and coffee were available in the room for free, the second floor had a library and free Americano (with snacks) that were all complimentary. The breakfast was also just as fantastic, a wide variety of food served in a buffet style but without the gross feeling of eating at a buffet, if that makes sense. The first days breakfast was more Taiwanese style with western options as well and the second day was mostly western style options. They switch it up. They have vegetarian food for breakfast ALSO VERY BIKE FRIENDLY. Overall, my girlfriend and I really enjoyed...
