Pennoni Pasta — Restaurant in Kaohsiung

Several issues. The menu in pic is misleading, you cant mix n match any combination, for example if you get tomato sauce pasta with mushrooms you can't get it baked with cheese. Weird that common combinations are missing.

Other issue is the tomato sauce pasta is lacking in flavor severely. Very watered down. The other is the lack of mushrooms in the dish, can count about 10 mushroom pieces, not mushrooms but pieces. Including about 4 mushroom strands.

Another minor issue is lack of AC. It's really hot in the restaurant at lunch time. I could fix the AC issue with getting takeout and eating at home but the food quality is just not there.

Some good points : Seems like a great hangout for young kids. Chill atmosphere and all self serve laid back. I think families would be happy coming here cause lots of large table seating and don't need to worry about bothering waiters.

The food here is really cheap so you can't complain about the price and I guess that could relate to the lack of toppings on the pasta.

Also the portions are very large, should definitely be very filling for most ppl and that ignores getting the side dishes.

Overall about 3.5 stars but I think you really need to maybe skew it up because the prices...

They have 2 automated machines for order taking and payment. There's a choice of baked pasta / baked rice or risotto / pasta (spaghetti or penne only), all with choice of tomato based, cream base, aglio olio or pesto (what they call green sauce). Then options of meat (bacon to chicken and sausage). So you choose and submit the order and make payment (cash or coin slots) and get a ticket number to collect your order. Very efficient system and cosy ambience, though in this heat, I imagine it to feel a little uncomfortable if I had dined in. I was very often there, cause the food is cheap and ok. Almost each second time I got the false food, they often forget the drinks or let me pay for cheese which was not inside the food. I never complained. Then they made a mistake on the other hand and I paid 10 NTD too less. I told them about 3 times, but they didnt understand. Then another waitress came and looked at the bills. After that they called the restaurant manager brought the phone to me and she told me I have to pay another 10 NTD. People on the other tables looked to us.
