JOHO sounds interesting! "Blessing" in the same Taiwanese language, the name alone is very creative, which is impressive! It is less than 200 meters away from Kaohsiung Station and surrounded by commercial hotels. Trial operations at this level of war zone will start in June this year. It is not a smart move without adequate preparation, but since Chick in, I realized that I was overthinking it! On one side is the traffic fortress of Kaohsiung, Zhongshan Road, which is full of traffic. I was in the hotel but was not disturbed by the sound of the outside, and there was no noise in the city center at all!||||The first feeling of staying is "Warm". I personally value Chick in because it is the first impression of the Hotel. As soon as entering Lobby, it's not luxury but a simple and design style. In addition to polite greetings, the counter staff also offered welcome plum vinegar during Chick in, which quenched thirst and quenched the heat. The service of the counter staff did not give people a very formal feeling. It is a kind of kindness and enthusiasm that can only be found in the south Taiwan, but there is no shortage of services. I once felt that I was in a five-star hotel. This is wonderful. After taking the room card and going upstairs, the moment I opened the door Wow, the room is actually cold I have stayed in so many hotels, and none of them ask someone to turn on the air conditioner to "pre-cool" when a guest is chick in. ||||People who like to read will definitely like it here. It is quiet and not noisy. The meals and drinks provided are very delicious, and the standard is much higher than that of the cafes outside. Resting here is a kind of enjoyment.||||The rooms are designed in Chinese style, taking the series of "Fu, Lu, and Shou". The room type is combined with the local road names in Kaohsiung, "Yixin, Ersheng, Shenduo, Wufu, Luhe". It can be seen that the business owner love Kaohsiung very much. The design of the rooms is very distinctive, the nostalgia and modernity are ingeniously matched, and the color matching is also very...
Read moreI stayed in JOHO for four nights- it is absolutely worth its reputation in any hotel reviews in all aspects. I would recommend to anyone visiting city of Kaohsiung.
-The hotel is only 3 minute of walk from the Kaohsiung train station. I have found it convenient to take public transportation to explore the city. Biking is convenient as it has a Ubike station right in the front.
-Room is spacious, comfortable and air conditioned well in summer. Bathroom has upscale Toto toilet as well as nice bathtub. Water pressure and temperature are very satisfying. I am sensitive to noise but had no problem with sleep through my stay. House keeping staff is extremely friendly and even follow up if cleaning is needed when “do not disturb” sign is on.
-No kidding, where else could I find such stellar hotel restaurant, with chef special breakfast entrees freshly cooked and dished out when I just get seated? Other than delicious entree, the breakfast buffet offers good variety of healthy and fresh options. The food is stored and organized in covered individual containers to keep strict dinning hygiene. They are not skimpy on portion and quality of ingredients-you can have all kinds of good and tasty protein, including fish, chicken, pork, truffle scrambled eggs, and seafood soup.
Don’t miss their bread! The friendly attendant even bakes bread per customer request so we have freshly baked bread over brewed coffee at breakfast table.
-Staff are among the top in hospitality, of most of the hotels I have stayed. They are extremely accommodating and treat guests with warmest and professional attitude. I have felt very much at home staying here. My room is for two guests, but I stay alone-they don’t hesitate to allow me to bring in my family member to enjoy the meals at breakfast and afternoon tea time with me each day. We had great family time and they were very impressed as well.
JOHO is above and beyond! I will come back stay here again when...
Read moreStayed 4 nights with family in two rooms in early December. We requested for rooms on the same floor in advance. The rooms were of different sizes. One room was significantly larger but had no view from the window. The other room had windows that opened onto the street. Both rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. I would however like to make two observations: (1) The bathroom could do with some hooks near the wash basin. (2) It took a while for the hot water to come out in the shower. ||Food proved to be the highlight of our stay. Breakfast was provided until noon each day and drinks / light meals were offered from 2-9 p.m. We had breakfast every morning and tried the drinks / light meals on two days. Food was consistently excellent. The main courses offered during breakfast were remarkably delicious, like something you would only find in a first-rate western restaurant. We were slightly disappointed to find that the same three main courses (bouillabaisse, pork ribs and chicken risotto) were offered for breakfast every day and the menu had remained unchanged since our last stay in July. Fortunately, our stay was not long enough for us to get bored with the food.||Service was impeccable from the moment we stepped into the hotel. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready yet. We were able to wait in the restaurant from 2pm until our rooms were ready. My child had a bathroom accident late in the evening and a hotel staff came to our rescue with clean sheets right away. This kind of service made us feel welcome and want to return again for...
