Decent dim sum that is closer to Hong Kong style dim sum. Dishes were served altogether quickly and lukewarm which I believe affected the taste slightly. I like the prawn chang fen/rice roll that came with a layer of fried doughstick wrapped within, giving it a slight crunch and is something you don’t see in every dim sum restaurant. The rest of the items are safe but characterless choices that didn’t really stand out for me.
What stood out during the meal was the service crew - close to rude especially in southern Taiwan where warm hospitality runs aplenty. No introductions were made upon seating and every dish was served without any communication, just dropped and left. They close promptly at 2.30pm and started clearing your table after 2, hastily reaching out their hands right in front of your face while you’re eating to collect plates that appeared done to them. They didn’t really check with you nor make any form of apologies, making the experience a bit uncomfortable as if you were being hurried to finished up and were in their way. Shortly after they started asking every table if we would like to takeaway the food and started wrapping things up for us. At 2.30pm sharp they dropped by every table and tactlessly tell you “our operating hours are over” with a flat tone and no eye contact.
I was under the impression that the kitchen would be closed but diners may continue eating after 2.30pm as that has been the case in many of my encounters. I did make a booking at 11:15am on 14 Feb 2024 several days before. By the time I made the booking, they “seriously TOLD ” me again and again that no delay is accepted. SO, I took a Uber taxi to arrive in several minutes ahead!
What a SHOCK! they expelled all customers from the restaurant at 3/F. Instead letting all of us the customers just waiting at the ground floor with all the escalators locked up in order to prevent all of us the customers going up although they have plenty of spaces just outside the restaurant. The three escalators then started operating by 11:20am ONE by ONE! Tall of these are nonsense acts; totally rude manners and absolutely unacceptable at all!
WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE!
Yuepin 悅品 (chinese dim sum restaurant) the whole serving team, to my cognition and experience , is extremely arrogant; ridiculous; rude and impolite!
Yuepin 悅品I believe should be the worst and the shame of Taiwan. You must feel terribly sorry if you want to...
