PASTi TRATTORIA — Restaurant in Nangang District

This place deserves NO stars but I couldn’t review without at least 1 star… I don’t understand how a restaurant as part of the service industry can have such ATROCIOUS service to customers. I had reservations for a party of four - one person had an emergency meeting that run a little late, they restaurant refused to sit us 3 who were in time & opened the restaurant door & kicked us out in a rude & loud manner. We were willing to pay for 4 people & tell the 4th person he couldn’t come in to dine, but they wouldn’t even allow us to do so. I don’t understand the lack of empathy and flexibility in this, if the fourth person had gotten into an accident or was suddenly sick, should there not be any flexibility in the restaurant’s policy? I have been to several top & Michelin restaurants worldwide & have never been treated worse. No matter how great the food at Pasti is it does not merit treating customers in such...

Absolutely fabulous! Real Italian food in Taipei. The food was right there - asparagi al mozzarella di bufula was divine and well matched with the Tre Fontane beer (a very nice trappist). For the Secondi, I opted for the abbachio scottadito alla Romana. It was spot on. The chef sources many products from Italy, making for a scrumptious feast.

The wine list is small, but very respectable Beer is foreign and pricey, but worth every drop. Finally, the grappa (yes, they have grappa!), is lovely. The grappa vin santo is a good, robust end to a lovely evening.

Logistics:

Menu is in Italian and mandarin only, but should not pose an issue for those who know Italian food.

Highly recommend to make reservations, as the establishment is gathering...

You must be out of your mind to rate this place anything less than 5 stars. The seafood is fresh and made to perfection. The grilled lobster over crab meat sauce.....simply ridiculous!!!!! But don’t assume Pasti is a one-trick pony. Their beef creations are not to missed either. The beef tongue was a pleasant surprise. The veal is also another popular item. There’s no doubt I’ll be back soon. One heads up though, be prepared to enjoy these heavenly dishes over 3-4 hours. Like in Italy, what’s the hurry?!?!?
