Consider carefully before visiting this restaurant and make sure to double check the prices!
Upon entry of the restaurant, we were told that it is “all you can eat but not a buffet” which is understandable but when we sat at our table, we noticed a sign that was unclear. It said that each person must spend $300 NTD and were unsure whether this was the price per person or a minimum threshold which wouldn’t have made sense given it being an “all you can eat restaurant”. We then called over a waiter who explained very clearly that we pay $300 per person ($1200 for a group of 4) in order to be able to order anything we want off the menu aside from 2 specific dishes which came at an extra charge. Luckily, once we placed our order, another waitress came over with our receipt to confirm our order and we’re glad she did as it had a total of nearly $4000 on it! We then explained that the hostess at the front in addition to the first waiter had told us that the restaurant was all you can eat, which it turned out to not be. This waitress was kind enough to work with us through some of the issues but it highlighted one of the largest problems with their customer service, which brings me to my next point…
…staff’s lack of training and knowledge of the restaurant. Not only one, but two staff members had told us that the restaurant was all you can eat, one of them explicitly telling us that it would cost $1200 +service fee for the whole table lest we order any of two specialty dishes! Once the first waitress who tried to help us out was called away with another task, she brought a replacement, the same hostess who greeted us and gave us the wrong information at the front. At first, she defensively explained that she meant that we could eat until we’re full and not that the restaurant is all-you-can-eat although these two terms are the exact same in mandarin! She then continued to “help” us.
This hostess turned out to be incredibly rude as proven by her later actions. While the first waitress had at least tried to help us, this hostess, when told that we would not be open to paying the almost $4000 that we didn’t know we ordered, threatened loudly, to cancel the rest of our food, including two out of 4 mains, leaving half of our group hungry at a time when most restaurants in Taipei were closing. She then proceeded to say that the only reason she wasn’t taking back the food that had already been brought out was for sanitary reasons. Therefore implying that she would have otherwise rather thrown out our food than have us eat it. (Keep in mind that we were not refusing to pay entirely, and we ended up paying approximately $2000, no thanks to this hostess as it was only once the first waitress came back that we continued to problem solve)
At the end of our meal, we requested a takeout container for an unfinished drink and were met with a glass of ice?!?!.
This was brought by the first waiter who had earlier told us that the cost of our meal would be $1200 +service fee. Overall, this would have been fine as we were informed that he’s a new hire but they proceeded to lie and make up excuses to make up for him by saying that he’s a foreigner and barely speaks mandarin even though he sounded like a native speaker to everyone in our group as he didn’t have an accent or any...

It was supposed to be a happy occasion as we were celebrating friend's birthday in this restaurant. However one of the pasta item that we ordered actually consists of a full size cockroach! It was totally disgusting and what a turned off! By then, we already eaten most of the pasta. I was very pissed off as I was the one that discovered the cockroach without my friends seeing it. Imagine if I wasn't the one that saw it at that time my friend would have eaten it without realizing.
Immediately I brought the cockroach pasta to the person in charge and they didn't seems to be apologetic as this was like a normal daily encounter(that's what shock me) and we were told that the bill would be waived off yet in the end they only offered to waive off the pasta item plus service charge. That's the 2nd time I got shock. I wanted to confront the person in charge however my friends were already affected and upset enough that they just wanted to settle the bill and leave asap.
I feel extremely sorry to the birthday friend as well as rest of the friends as their appetite and mood were already spoilt for the day and definitely left a very bad impression and memory with this restaurant. Taiwan Bite 2 Eat, as a tourist, I always have very good impression of this country and the food however I think you've to seriously do something about your kitchen + food cleanliness and staffs servicing...
