We just had our advanced Valentine's dinner, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. While the view was lovely and the waiter was attentive, a group of loud customers celebrating nearby made the experience quite unpleasant. The excessive noise—almost like being in a market—was never addressed by the staff, which really detracted from the atmosphere and spoiled our dinner. They should have a private booth which is located near the bathroom, instead, they all got near the window seat! We were so frustrated that we decided to leave early because we couldn't stand the noise any longer.
I don’t eat beef, but I noticed that my husband's dish was overcooked. He mentioned it was so dry that he had to throw it away after just a few bites. Such a waste of food. The hot food choices we're quite limited, but I do love the tomato soup which is very suitable for this cold weather.
The cold crab was not cleaned well, which surprised me. My mom always removes a lot of the contents before cooking. I was shocked that they didn’t clean it properly before serving. Additionally, I noticed that at the beginning, we received whole shrimp in the seaweed wrap, but later on, due to the large crowd, the shrimp were cut in half haha
I was planning to bring a friend & his wife there, but I now feel we would be better off at a café in the 101...
Read moreTwo 17 persons capacity elevators serving three restaurants on three top floors, a questionable architectural design decision in the first place; had to wait in a long queue for elevator access upon arrival. A receptionist confirmed our booking on the ground floor before entering the elevator, yet the counter person on the 50th floor had to check again after we exited the elevator, as if we were clearing checkpoints.
The floorplan of 50F. Cafe is poorly laid out with very tide corridor space, leaving little space for queuing. The furnitures have the expensive look and weight but are very impractical for buffet style dining. Food was mostly lukewarm at best and tasted average. Some employees had attitude issues and certainly need retraining. Also, the till only accepts physical Happy Go card to collect points; apparently it doesn't have the equipment to scan APP that is developed by the company it's located in.
Overall, the best part of the dining experience was perhaps the city view in the toilet, but the toilet needs rework too. An ambitious 5-star project with Shangri-La International Hotel management that fails to deliver the 5-star hospitality experience, much improvement needed to...
Read moreI am sorry to say I was very disappointed with the food variety that was presented there at the buffet. Food was delicious but not too many selections, not too many Japnese food selection only a few sushi, seafood. I think I didn't see any lamp chops, roast duck or pork chops only beef slices.
The desert area was quite a few selection and well presented, ice ceam place only had 4 buckets of Hagen das, the other brand had 2 buckets only. Fruit I only see 3/4 selections as well.
Overall, I believe it is great for view as it is situated on the 50th floor and seems for people who love elegant dinning, for this price and want great selection of food, there are other better selection buffet restaurants to choose and...
