IN-DEPTH REVIEW:
This cafe is located on the 2nd floor of a building in a sus looking alleyway. It's a little dangerous walking back down because there is barely any railing and the stairs slope downward, so be careful on your way out.
I loved the ambiance, especially at night (came around 4 PM - 6 PM) with the soft glow of the lamps.
Menu is NOT English-friendly. I can speak Mandarin so I asked the barista to explain the menu items because the Chinese characters are difficult to read. Barista was very nice though.
Food: TLDR; Desserts are overpriced and don't taste good. Drinks are if you prefer unsweetened/bitter. :) You HAVE to order at least 1 drink.
Pudding was $160 NTD (~$5+ USD). It looks cute but it's so small (barely the size of my palm). The pudding like the egg "custard" tart (more gelatin-like and not creamy). Very disappointed because I thought it was going to be creamy.
The "thai milk tea" flavored cake didn't taste like thai milk tea??? It just tastes like a less thick version of basque cheesecake. The base is very crumbly and moist. (Was about $180 NTD??? So ~$6 USD)
The "scone" was like a dry and tasteless hard cookie :') they did add this cream that I really liked and slightly sour strawberry jam but it was almost $100 NTD for it (~$3+ USD) so I was expecting more. :(
Menu is perfect if you don't like sweet drinks. But they will add sugary water on the side for you to add on...
Read moreThe best matcha I’ve had in years! Just like the best ones I’d had in Japan, worth every cent. The boss is very enthusiastic about it, giving me a tiny cup to taste the green tea before throwing it into the warm milk so that I’m sure how sweet I’d like it. The decorations of the place are unique and well lighted for photo taking. I’m surprised by a poster of The days being wild on the wall. The boss says Tong Leung in this poster looks like Stephan Chau - funnily that’s true haha I have a great time drawing and reading here! May come again when...
Read moreLittle coffee shop on the second floor of a very hidden building. It’s in an alley, follow Google maps and you’ll find it on the right. The menu is in mandarin so it’s hard to know what’s available… but I ordered a toast that was amazing. I think it had red bean paste on top of something I couldn’t decipher but it was delicious. The ambience is nice and calm.
I went there to work and have meetings because reviews said Wi-Fi was good but it isn’t good enough for...
