I cannot express how disappointed I was with this restaurant. They have such a magnificent venue that could turn the restaurant into one of the awesome place in Taipei. However, they choose the other side of the coin. I was there on the 24th October 2020, holding a birthday party with a group of 16 people. The idea was to have a backyard movie night with barbecue. I arranged a friend of mine to have a face-to-face meet up with the floor manager (Raymond/Ramen) to go through all my requirements/expectations and to address all the shortcomings. The food menu for the barbecue, the table and decor set up discussed with him days prior to the event and it was agreed upon. To my surprise, when we arrived at the venue on the event day at 6pm, it was a slop! They only set up a projector and a screen with chairs arranged like a training room. One long table suitable only for 6 persons placed at the side, covered with plain satin cloth and no other arrangement put up for my guest. Nothing was arranged as per discussed. My guest and I have to request for additional tables, rearranged the settings of the table and chairs for the movie night on our own. Sad to say, we even ordered additional cooked food from their menu, days in advance, but it was only served after we kept reminding the staff of the missing food multiple times. We ordered Pad Thai, Fried Rice and Curry Vegetables which all of them does not taste anywhere close to Thai food that I have tried after all. Luckily, we choose to have a barbecue, you can’t go wrong with that even if it’s not marinated or seasoned prior. We even have to bring our own wine/champagne glasses for the event, wasn’t a big deal but after all when you are spending NTD 25,000 for that one night from 6pm till 10pm, I guess they could have put in some effort to make the customer satisfied. Will definitely recommend the venue (only!!!) as it is amazing to hold outdoor events but I would suggest to have an event planner to do the job for you as the manager is such a disappointment. Food wise, fast food will...
Read moreDecent little place at the end of Shihlin night market right before the old Shihlin administration office. The rating is really high due to the free Thai milk tea offer as seen in my images, if given a 5 star rating they will provide a free Thai milk tea. We came here on a Sunday evening where it’s decently packed with no real wait time. We didn’t order the set menu for 2 nor 4 and decided to order the dishes we deem a must try. The services were pretty on point however the wait time for individual dishes were significantly lagging. The first two dish came relatively fast however we waited another 20 min for the next 2 then another 15 for the last rib dish. They did provide complimentary shrimp crackers for the long wait however it didn’t really offset the long wait time experience. The fried shrimp cake was Good, however the fried veggie, pad Thai was mediocre at best. The two dishes were saturated with too much sauce which became too salty, the green curry and spicy calamari goes well with rice. Lastly the ribs were not worth NT$380 as the portions were small, enough for 1. Decorations are nice as it has a unique outdoor indoor experience however the food can definitely be improved...
Read moreYou'll find a Thai restaurant inside Xilin Night Market. It's set up in an old-fashioned building that gives off a traditional vibe. What's interesting is that the tables aren't completely flat – they're a bit slanted, which adds a fun twist. The bathroom is pretty small, fitting only one person at a time.
Now, when it comes to the food, it's not as spicy as regular Thai dishes. They've made it less spicy so that it matches the taste buds of Taiwanese people. It's a bit different from the usual spiciness you'd expect from Thai cuisine, but it's done this way to make it more appealing to folks...
