I visited Coffee Essential many times to do my PhD work. I get the impression that the owner really loves her business and that comes across in every aspect of the cafe. The coffee is very nice, the best I had in Taiwan. They taste test every pot of coffee so you can be confident you won't get a bad cup. I regularly had the Dutch coffee and I highly recommend it, it's absolutely delicious. The food is very nice, particularly the brownie. The service is efficient and the staff are friendly. Some of them speak a little English, enough to get your order so you don't have to be worried if you don't speak Mandarin; the menus are in both English and Mandarin. I was very pleased that one time I forgot my laptop charger, one of the guys working there ran outside with it to return it to me. They have very nice spaces to work with lamps and power outlets. It also seems like a nice place to relax at their sofas and tables. The decoration is well thought out and has a consistent feel, which is relaxed but also trendy. The music is the right volume and always good. The prices surprised me because they're certainly higher than in the UK but they're the same as in similar cafes around Taipei, so you shouldn't be put off by that. Overall I really liked this place and I'm really missing it now that I'm back in the UK. I'll definitely come here again when I come...

Flavored cheesecakes like sesame cheesecakes tend to have a less subtle taste, but it's a matter of taste I guess. If your 2nd drink is the same as the 1st one, it'll be 50% cheaper. They also have a fidelity program with your phone number that'll give you access to free...

Great latte, great madeleine & great vibe
Want to particularly shout out to the staff there: he saw that it's raining outside, and I didn't have an umbrella. He went into the storage house and handed me an umbrella, despite me saying that I might not return it soon, and he said "no worry. walk carefully"
Really touched by such a beautiful act
100% recommend for anyone who want to find a great place to...
