Sleek, Well-Designed Modern Rooms; Comfortable Bed
With this visit being my first time in Taipei, I chose the Fullteron-North based on online reviewer’s positive postings – and I was so glad that I did. The staff is warm and friendly; the rooms are spacious and well-appointed; and the breakfast food choices are excellent.
Lobby and Check-In The lobby is not particularly large, but is well-designed. The staff greeted me warmly, with excellent English. The check-in process was efficient, and I was in my room within minutes of arriving at the hotel.
Location Both the Fullerton-North and Fullerton-South are located on Fuxing Road, about 4km apart. I chose the North hotel because of its proximity to the rapid transit train system. While one can take public transportation from the international airport into Taipei, the journey is a long one, and most often, involves changing trains. For me, reserving a round-trip car service was the most convenient and was relatively reasonably priced for the one-hour journey each direction from and to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Rooms The room was large, nicely furnished and appointed, very clean, and modern. The air-conditioning was already set to a comfortable temperature – and was turned on – when I arrived into the room, which I particularly appreciated, given the heat and humidity of Taipei during my visit. The room itself was spacious, with a large bathroom, as well. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with crisp, high-thread-count sheets.
In addition to three pieces of fresh fruit, there were a few complimentary snacks and water, which were restocked daily.
The shower had terrific water pressure and temperature control. My only slight complaint was that I wished there was a larger shelf to hold my personal shower toiletries. The toiletries provided by the hotel were quite nice, by the way. There was plenty of room on the vanity by the sink for storing my toiletry kit – a big plus for me, personally. The toilet had a built-in bidet and an automatic flush system, as well as a detector for opening and closing the lid when you came close to the toilet itself, which was nice (except for the times I walked near the toilet to throw something in the trash, and the lid opened, which actually became somewhat amusing).
The décor was appealing, with clean lines and modern design. At the end of a day in Taipei, the hotel was a nice “home” to return to in the evening.
Dining Options A breakfast buffet is included in the price of the night’s stay in the hotel, and the food choices were excellent, including hot egg dishes one could order from the dining room staff. There was an outdoor seating area, as well, but I wanted to stay in the air-conditioned interior dining room, which was well-decorated and pleasant.
Overall I would definitely stay at the Taipei Fullerton Hotel-Maison North when I...
Read moreStayed there for 8 nights for the quarantine and self health monitoring period during our recent visit to Taiwan. It was our first time to undergo quarantine with a young child and I was dreading it before the trip. However it went surprisingly well. It was actually one of the highlights of our trip. ||||Our room was spacious and clean with well-arranged furniture. We could set up different areas for eating, playing and washing up. We actually loved chilling out in the bathroom with the ceiling to floor windows. ||||The food provided was delicious most of the time and we were given fresh fruits with breakfast and dinner every day. As our child is too young to eat adult food, I ordered frozen children’s food in advance to the hotel. The hotel staff were most helpful in storing and bringing them up to our room when required. ||||We were allowed to go out during the self health monitoring period. The hotel staff always checked if we would like to have lunch sent up to our room even when we returned after the normal lunch delivery time. ||||What made our stay so enjoyable was the super supportive hotel staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. They were very quick in responding to our emails / Line messages. I was actually a bit sad when it was...
Read moreOur week-long stay was very comfortable, the room and facilities were fantastic for the price we paid. Hospitality from the team was also well received.
(Special shout-out to the lady who checked in on us at the breakfast table, to make sure we were alright after a minor aftershock from the Hualien earthquake in the middle of the night during our stay)
However some painfully obviously points that need improvement for a hotel of this caliber :
Only one towel hook in the bathroom. Despite having a large spacious bathroom fitted with a large tub, shower and automated toilet, there is only a SINGLE TOWEL HOOK for a double room. Where is the other person supposed to hang their towels, let alone the 2 bath robes provided? We even switched rooms and it was still the same in the other room.
Housekeeping started slacking towards the end of our stay. On the 2-3rd last day, cups were not cleaned, empty bottles were not removed from our rooms, coffee & milk pods in the room not replaced etc. Very sloppy housekeeping and simply not acceptable at this...
