刁民-酸菜魚 逢甲店 — Restaurant in Taichung

This place was miraculously recommended by a random store owner as a substitute for our original destination which was temporarily closed. I believe wholeheartedly that this was destiny, that every decision that I’ve made thus far was made to allow me to step foot into this establishment.

The fish soup was perfect in every way, from the oh-so-tender fish to the soothing taste of pepper as the soup meandered through my throat, healing my body and soul in the process. Truly delicious food. The yellow one that I’ve posted (the first picture) in particular was exceptional, but the tomato was no slouch either, both soups harmonising together to create melodies in my mouth. Each soup stayed true to its promise, and provided a different perspective on soup as a whole.

Not to mention the milk tea, which this restaurant somehow managed to perfect as well. This milk tea, even with its simplicity, was more refreshing and flavourful than the other milk tea shops I’ve come across so far in this country.

Coming here has made my vacation worth it, and almost certainly given immeasurable value to my commute...

If you come to Taichung and do not stop by here for a meal, you’ve wasted your trip and need to plan another one.

This is beyond delicious. The soup is powerfully flavourful, the fish is melt-in-your-mouth tender and the toppings just work harmoniously with the broth.

Moreso, the iced bubble tea tastes heavenly in contrast to the warmth of the soup. This may have ruined all other milk teas for me.

Operating hours are from 1130am to 0200 am daily. There were seating area outside for people to sit while waiting. 90 minutes were given for consumption. No qualm that the sour fish is the meal of the day but what caught me by surprise is the scent of what I deemed as the " Secret Scent Pair Tea ". Pair because we need 2 pieced of orange skin and XYZ dry fruit or flowers to create this great magical tasteful Tea which is free-flow. Try them...
