The second we stepped in, the guy behind the counter 2 metres away was impatiently shouting “how many of you?”, juggling with thermometer & alcohol spray. This happens to every party that walked in that evening. Definitely not the best way to greet customers, considering the distance between the door & counter, plus some may have hearing issues.
Chawanmushi was too dense, far from the silky & savory taste you would expect. No decorative topping, just a shrimp.
Unadon was a disappointment - the eel was thin and lacks bite.
The katsu had more batter than cutlet. The mustard dressing was sweetened. Much prefer having it as a dip than drizzle all over.
What happened to aromatic steamed white rice? There was way much kabayaki in our bentos. You could potentially suffer a sodium or MSG overdose!
