Ching Hot Pot — Restaurant in Taichung

This is a fantastic place for seafood hot pot. The owner is affiliated with a seafood wholesaler and their live lobster, prawns, oysters, scallops, shrimp, and clams are some of the freshest and most delicious in Taichung. They also have good pork, lamb, and beef as well as organic chicken leg meat. Make a reservation as this place gets really busy on weekends, and enjoy a fabulous meal with a friendly and efficient management and staff.

Update September 2024: This place just moved to a new location which they had custom built and decorated in a simple and natural and Japanese influenced style, with lots of wood, a large kitchen, and outdoor fish tanks in the back. The food is as excellent as it ever was with fantastic ingredients, wonderful service, and the same reasonable prices. This is definitely one of my favorite Seafood Hot Pot places in all of Taiwan, and I absolutely love their duck...

Great hotpot shop. Has free drinks and ice cream. I think 3 special sauces. I had a lobster twin set, around 1800 twd or more, friends had 200-400 level pots.

The space was nice, comfortable seating, the boss may seem indifferent, but is actually very engaged. The meat is ok, I found the beef with more fat tasting better. However their strength really is in seafood, not in meats, as I found out through shrimps and lobsters.
