Le Ble d'Or — Restaurant in Taichung

My personal food was terrible, pork knuckle and mushroom risotto weren’t great. Mushroom risotto had a ridiculous almost obscene amount of mushrooms and had a bad aftertaste and the pork knuckle just was not cooked well. My girlfriend got the creamy chicken pasta which she enjoyed and the fried appetizer platter was good. The beer also too was very good. The atmosphere and ambience is really nice as they have a ton of seating inside and outside and gives a very European feel. However, the service was terrible, the waitstaff did not come up and check on us one time throughout the whole time we dined and anytime we needed help we had to go and get up to get their attention. They did not refill our beverages one time or ask us about that during our whole time there. Besides giving us our food, the waitstaff was pretty nonexistent as we continually waited and waited to order food and anything else we may have wanted. The time we went, the restaurant wasn’t even packed or had many customers. I would recommend coming here to get some appetizers and some drinks casually if you do not mind bad service but if you are looking to enjoy some of their entree items and enjoy a whole meal, I would not...

Went for a colleague's leaving party. I arrived first and ordered a beer while I waited. It took over thirty minutes to arrive. Just a beer. That set the tone for the evening, the service was just insanely slow. If the food had been great it might have made it less of an issue, but it was just mediocre. Nobody was particularly impressed. The beer was good, but not worth waiting 30 minutes for. The only way to get it faster was to continually chase the servers.

I've heard many people make the same observation about this place. Maybe the owners thought they could afford to make a little extra money by not hiring enough staff. Maybe that was true when craft beer was uncommon in Taichung, but now there are many other places serving it faster and with better food. I'll not be going back...

What a shame and without guilt that this restaurant charges 10% of tips or gratuities automatically but provided ZERO service whatsoever.

My water glass has not been refilled even once when had a lunch here on a Tuesday, the restaurant are not busy at all.

No one walk by and check if food or beer are okay. The function of the waiting stuff are just taking food from kitchen to your table because no one takes your order when you placed your order by scanning a QR code.

One star is for the beer, they do have good beer.

The personal combo I ordered also mediocre. Friend mushroom are greasy. Same as the two item fried combo.
