superhouse — Restaurant in Taichung

After being unexpectedly turned away from X-Cube down the road for "not being able to speak Chinese" we came to Superhouse with low expectations — but WOW what a difference! As a foreign woman, I was grateful to be let in and not feel unwelcome by the door staff.

We were informed there was a special event with a celebrity guest, so we had to pay an entrance fee - NT$900 for two people - though I’m not sure if it’s usually free or not. It felt a bit pricey at first but the ticket included a drink, so we didn’t mind too much.

However, one thing I wish had been made clearer: the drink was actually part of an unlimited drinks system, provided you bring the cup back to the bar. I only found this out after paying NT$350 for a second drink — a frustrating surprise that could easily have been avoided with a simple explanation upon entry. Once we figured it out, though, the unlimited drinks were a nice perk.

The special guest turned out to be the singer KIRE, who I recognised from Instagram, which was a lovely surprise. Although he only performed three songs (none I was familiar with), the atmosphere during his set was energetic and enjoyable and it seemed like a lot of fans came especially for him. In the end, it feels like the entrance fee felt worth it for this experience alone after all.

Last but not least, our motivation to even try clubbing in Taichung at all was sparked by an Instagram post with dancing life-sized Labubus and SUPERHOUSE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Although mostly interacting with the VIP area, when we got close one of them noticed us, and gave a wave and a high-five — a small gesture that honestly made the night feel that much more special.

Overall: great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a fun experience. My only suggestion would be clearer communication at the entrance regarding drinks and perhaps a bit less focus on the VIP section. Still, I’d definitely recommend Superhouse to others looking for a good night out...

Avoid it if you are foreigner.....Horrible compared to any night club for example in Thailand. The tables are reserved for the people who pay more. First impression the people at the gate doesn't know single word of English and apparently they act weird if they foreigner and not friendly at all. Later on they will ask you for entry fee Which is 600 it's totally fine with me/us . And no further explanation will be given. Upon entering inside the fee including Heineken beer as long as you can drink it drink no problem.but standing only. If you want a table you need to consume about 8000 or equivalent to got a chair / coach to set on. Everyone inside seems less friendly and ready to fight . I definitely won't come back here and don't recommended it for English speaking foreigners. Totally the worst experience in my life as traveller...

I recently attempted to visit this club, but was extremely disappointed with the treatment I received from the security personnel. As a person of African heritage, I was denied entry on the grounds that my shoes did not meet the dress code requirements. Despite changing into a different pair, the security personnel still refused to grant me entry and demanded to see my passport. This was a clear example of racial profiling, as I had previously been admitted to the club with my ARC. It was a deeply upsetting experience, and it's unacceptable that people can still be denied entry to venues based solely on their ethnicity. I would strongly urge this establishment to address their discriminatory practices and make necessary changes to ensure that all patrons are treated fairly...
