串亦燒-海安店 — Restaurant in Tainan

We had walked past many times and been attracted by their murals outside, so I’m looking for a local izakaya we thought we’d give this a try. Sadly it was already almost full and we had to sit in the back of the restaurant which is behind the wall in an area we hadn’t previously known existed, this considerably changed the atmosphere but while hungry, we still gave it a chance. We ordered several dishes but none of them were truly outstanding. Service was quite fast and the serving staff were all very friendly, the choice of beers and drinks is available and good, we would imagine if sat in the front area. It’s probably much more enjoyable and we saw a few people ask to be reseated when tables became available, so maybe worth booking an advance or coming early, that said nearby are better options. I was absolutely astonished with how delicious the skewers were - I wasn't going to order them but saw that many people around me had them. They are so juicy, flavor just bursting! I came in late for some food and beer and when i tasted how good the food was I had to bring some home to my sleeping wife. I woke her up to taste it and she has been talking about how delicious it was to this day. The sashimi was also very fresh and tasty. Everything I had was great. Bad experiences for my family of 6 in this restaurant. Waiters were not helpful coz there were 6 of us and unwilling to assist my family from ordering as most of us couldn't read chinese. The app provided to order in English was not working. They are unfriendly to tourists. We selected it of good remarks and was really disappointed.
