藍家割包 Lan Jia Traditional Taiwanese Snack⠀ Traditional Taiwanese Restaurant ⠀ ⠀ Tried this shop few years ago, tried it again now and the taste remains the same, still awesomely tasty. Michelin Bib Gourmand recommended, this shop located at nearby one of the most lively area of Taipei - Gongguan MRT station, where National Taiwan University resides. Anyone around this area will definitely be recommending to try out this shop. ⠀ ⠀ Gua bao is like a Taiwanese burger if you want to have an example in mind. Shaped like a mantou, it'll be wrapping fillings like vegetable, meats, peanuts and others too. The magical part about Gua Bao at 藍家割包 is that you get to customized your meat preference - Full Lean, Full Fat, Half and Half, Half and Half (more to Lean), Half and Half ore to Fat). Wow! That level of customization! You'll always be seeing a queue for those takeaways, proof of how awesome this is. ⠀ ⠀ Ordered「割包 綜合偏肥」(Gua Bao, Half and Half, more to Fa- Awesome, highly recommended! The fluffiness of the bao together with the filling is simply too awesome. The tenderness of the braised pork (according to the meat preference that you've ordered), together with the peanuts and other stuff (I can feel sugar too), all combines together and the flavorful taste lingering in your mouth. ⠀ ⠀ Ordered「四神綜合湯 (腸+肚)」- Definitely one of Best 四神湯 I ever had! Packed with strong flavor, the soup is extremely tasty. The most awesome part is you won't feel the smelly or fishy smell of the internal organs, proof of proper handling and cleaning of the parts before cooking. ⠀ ⠀ Ordered「大腸肉焿麵線 辣」- Also definitely one of the 大腸麵線 I ever had. Reason being is that you won't feel it's oily nor greasy at all. The taste is smooth to your tongue, and perfect for the stomach. You won't feel any smell of the intestine at all!⠀ ⠀ 藍家割包 Lan Jia Traditional Taiwanese Snack⠀ @lan_jia_gua_bao⠀ No. 3號, Alley 8, Lane 316, Section 3, Luosifu Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, 100⠀ Tuesday till Sunday 11:00-23:00⠀ ⠀ #taipei #taipeifoodie #foodie #taiwanesecuisine #taiwan #gongguan #gongguanmrt #公館 #公館捷運站 #臺大 #NTU #藍家割包 #割包 #四神湯 #大腸麵線 #xiaomi12sultra...
Read moreMany relatives mentioned this little eatery which is famous for gua bao (Taiwanese Burger) and Four Gods Soup. I've been brought here years ago, and today I came back again to relive my dream :) Needless to say, I was ecstatic to have both dishes down into my eager belly today!
You can select how fatty you want the pork belly. Huh? Yep, even I was taken aback by the menu which had the same item listed 5 times based on the degree/mix of fattiness of the pork belly!! Talk about gua bao gourmet! I picked the middle-to-low-fat mix, but if you want your bite to simply melt in your mouth, be my guest and pick the fatty kind!!! Man, each bite was simply exquisite: savory of the pork, sweetness from the peanut powder, and fragrance of the cilantro - all sandwiched between that steamed white soft buns which was made to perfection. I was in haven for a few moments while I chowed down that babe!
Speaking of haven, the Four Gods Soup was also quite out of this world, and they were very generous with the ingredients. It's for the adventurous, though: its main ingredients are 4 Chinese medicinal herbs, plus pig chitterlings (intestines)! Oh, maybe the rice wine in the soup might take you off the fence a little, LOL!
It's located in a small alley across from National Taiwan University, but just ask any locals where to get gua bao and he/she will point you to the right direction with their...
Read moreThis guabao is really one of the BEST guabao in Taiwan. Literally. You can choose your meat to be lean, fatty or a mixture. I went for the lean meat and it was still so tender!! The pork tears as you bite into you. They also added peanuts and some pickled vegetables for the texture. It's like savoury, yet it is a little sweet. Plus the sweet buns were soft, fluffy and warm (yet not soggy from condensation). An absolute a must go when you're visiting Taiwan.
We also ordered meesua, which was also very nice! After I tried the Ah Chung meesua (which was very good), this is a comparable second.
Lastly we ordered the bakzhang, which I felt was mediocre. There were lots of glutinous rice and not much of the meat fillings. Chilli was sweet so it went well with the rice but overall I felt that getting nonya bakzhang from Singapore is nicer that that because nonya version is a good mix of sweet and savoury.
My only regret was not getting more guabao..... seriously guys, other guabaos cannot compare to this. Sidenote: there is a bubble milk shop directly opposite that has a super long queue as well, good for those who has spare time (and stomach) to queue after eating...
