Wine Bar & Wine Shop — Restaurant in Taipei

My partner remembered this bar from a long time ago and while visiting, we decided to see if it was still any good.

The wine suggested from their most expensive house wine price was a very weak attempt with limited flavour and tasted like it had been watered down despite asking for something strong and their gin and tonic almost made my partner throw up due to the poor quality of the gin used. Furthermore, as we tried to leave, the cashier was didn’t provide a receipt until prompted and seemed comfortable to let us leave without giving one (strange considering tax rules in the country).

As someone working in the wine industry in Asia, this place is a joke. So called wine bar with a ridiculous amount of wines to choose from from the "wine list" and no mention of what you are getting if you choose a wine by the glass. Not to mention the clueless waitress who dared puffing when I asked to see the labels of their by the glass selection. The cheese and cold cut board was an expensive joke, with rancid pieces of meat and below average cheeses. But thank god the balsamic vinegar on the camembert wasn't that bad. I am therefore in a UBER with stomachache and on my way to another proper wine bar. No idea where all the good reviews for this place come from but certainly from people with very low...

這是一個非常糟糕的用餐經驗，我們昨日7人至貴餐廳慶生，餐廳出餐順序雜亂無章、食物溫度偏冷、服務也非常不主動。 我們當晚是第一組客人，我們就座後尚未點餐兩位壽星的餐點就送上來了，不僅沒有詢問我們牛排的溫度而且還是涼掉的。點完餐後的出菜順序也相當糟糕，主菜與主菜間的時間間隔相距過大，造成餐點先來的人都已經吃飽了，後面的人餐點卻還沒上來。牛排上的速度非常慢，而且已經涼掉了，開胃菜竟然是最後面才上來。出餐前後差距約20分鐘以上，以上種種情況造成大家無法一起用餐，失去前來貴餐廳慶生同樂的意義。另外餐廳服務的狀況非常被動，需要不斷的朝手示意才會注意，這點理應做為當晚第一組客人，再加上當晚用餐人數並不多的情況下是不該出現的，相當需要改進。

This is the worst dining experience ever. We celebrated the birthday for 2 of our friends in the restaurant. The restaurant order was disorderly, the food was cold, and the service was very inactive. Before we entered the restaurant, there was no other customer. We seated down and we didn’t place the order yet but they already serve the stakes for the birthday guests, in addition, both steaks were cold and they didn’t even ask us about the steak’s temperature. I ordered the steak and it was quite bad, because the steak was cold and they didn’t pre-warm the plate. When the time they serve the main course was really strange, 7 people dined at the same table, but we could’t enjoy our dinner together, either someone finished their meal or someone else was still waiting for their dish, and the thing which surprise us was they served the appetizer in the end. The speed on prepare the steak was very slow, it took FOREVER and btw I waited 20 minutes for my steak. All the situations mentioned above, they have made it impossible for everyone to dine together. In addition, the condition of the service was very passive. Since we are the first customer, but we still had to wave our hands and signaled them that we want to order our food. There’s still plenty room for improvement, I expect better service...
