We stayed at Cho Hotel next door and saw this coffee shop is highly rated. We had the smoked duck panini, honey waffle with mochi, and tiramisu. The tiramisu is pretty much on my top 2 list — incredibly smooth, not overly sweet, and the balance of coffee and mascarpone was spot on. It had that melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes you pause and savor every bite. The smoked duck panini was a pleasant surprise — the duck was tender and flavorful, paired with crisp veggies and a tangy sauce that brought everything together. It’s a hearty option that still feels refined. The honey waffle with mochi was fun and comforting. The mochi added a chewy contrast to the crisp waffle, and the drizzle of honey gave it just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the dish. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for something playful and satisfying. The ambiance of the café was cozy and welcoming, with a stylish interior that invites you to linger. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe made it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Taipei. Definitely a place I’d return to — not just for the tiramisu, but for the whole experience. Last but not least, it's...

Read moreWhat kind of specialty coffee shop prices their coffees so you don't reach the minimum spend if everyone buys one?
We ordered two coffees. I was excited to try their most expensive geisha coffee at 250 a cup. The order came to 430 and they said the minimum spend for two was 500 and to order something else.
I said we just came to try the specialty coffee (they have lots of awards) and I've got the most expensive one, but their menu won't hit the min spend even then. They wouldn't let us order and said we still needed to buy other things.
Very weird experience. Particularly for a place that prides itself on coffee.
Other notes:
Upon arrival they shouted at us to stand by the front door from behind the espresso machine across the entire shop as we approached the counter.
Extremely rude and unpleasant. Not a smile or hello in sight.
Terrible service. Nice decor. Probably very average quality coffee given how busy and grumpy the single barista was. I saw a few of their lattes and they certainly weren't hearts, nevermind swans!
Sort your menu out. Train your staff. Stop taking orders if there's going to be a 30...
