Ximen Beer Bar — Restaurant in Wanhua District

The blond female bartender was not very polite. As soon as you get in, she tells you that you have to pay at least 300 TWD. No hello, or welcome. It felt very transactional. When customers asked for recommendations, she told them to check the menu and that only 2 beers are non-Taiwanese beers. No indication on taste etc.. I didn’t learn anything in this bar about taiwanese beer, and of course with zero guidance I didn’t choose the right beer for me. The place doesn’t serve any food (only crisps), and the bartender was eating her dinner during the shift. I understand that she may be busy or hungry but it just didn’t feel right since she was there by herself. The atmosphere was very strange; I think most customers came here with expectation of having a nice time, but instead felt like a burden due to the attitude of the staff. Best bar in Ximending. Every time I travel to Taipei, I always end up in this bar. My go-to bar forever.

Beer is excellent. They have special and unique draft flavors crafted by them which provides for a fun experience for travelers and even locals.

Staff are very friendly and all speak an ample amount of English so communication isn’t a problem.

Pricing is average. There are cheaper bars around the area but the atmosphere and quality of the draft beer of Ximen Beer Bar make up for the price of their beer so all is well.

The place itself is very small. It gets crowded on weekend nights so make sure to come early or expect to wait for around half an hour to be seated.

This is the best place you could ever have for a drink. I was in Taiwan for a mid-honey moon. We decide to venture out and ask some local people particularly from Ximen Taiwan we is a good place to chill. 3 of them highly recommended as to visit 94 ximen. When we got there the ambiance was perfect! The waitress welcome us in and was nice. Later, the good looking manager came quickly then introduced his beer and everything about it. We end up having one light beer and an IPA which he recommended us, and it was perfect and very fulfilling for both of us. We had a really cozy 2 hours stay. This place was not too loud.
