Staff are very helpful. The guy staff is able to speak simple English. At first I was seated away from window seating as all were taken. But when I requested for it, staff was extremely kind to let me know there was someone awaiting as well but would let me have the next available, which they did! I totally enjoyed the view while eating my sumptuous lunch.
✅ their pork trotter with peanuts was excellently done! I love it! ✅ their seasonal vegetable changed from time to time- this time is their local all time fav- cabbage. It was very nicely stirred fried 👍🏻 ✅ hot fruit tea- I asked them if it’s possible to have no additional sugar, and it was done perfectly. Citrus and refreshing - fruity sour ❌ would advice to skipped the custard buns- the custard by right should be flowy but it was all dried custard. Disappointed.
My bill came as NT957, which I thought was reasonable for a touristy place/ food quality/ food portion/ service/ restaurant with a view 😉
Overall still recommend this place to rest, enjoy the view and order some good food if...
Read moreTucked away just a 7-minute walk from Maokong Station, Redwood Tea House is a culinary gem that came highly recommended on Xiaohongshu. My friend and I, despite being a party of two, devoured three dishes—a testament to how incredibly delicious the food was.
We started with the Tea-infused Drunken Chicken (茶香醉雞), a cold chicken dish that was surprisingly unique and flavorful, even for someone who isn't usually fond of cold meats. Next, we tried their famous Tea-infused Vegetable Rice (茶香菜飯). This dish was incredibly appetizing, and I couldn't stop at just one bowl, finishing three! The highlight of the meal for me, however, was the Stir-fried Cat Fern with Egg (月見過貓). This interesting dish featured a local fern, one of my favorite vegetables, stir-fried to perfection and topped with a raw egg—a truly memorable combination.
Beyond the fantastic food, the tea house offers a lovely dining experience with indoor seating and a view of Taipei 101 in the distance. I highly recommend visiting Redwood Tea House if...
Read moreBrought parent, my sis and 3 years old nephew to this restaurant because the Taipei fun card said we can have some activity there.
First of all, they keep pushing us to here and there saying not here etc, but the tourist center told us that’s the place. False promotion info. Never mind, we went in anyway because my parent and kids was hungry.
Secondly, the food was so so and expensive. Definitely not worth the money.
Third, the 3yo nephew was a bit cranky at that moment and make some noise, which is uncontrollable but we tried our best to not disturb others. The staff received a complaint about the kids noise then they come to us. Of course we understand but how can we control a 3yo kids. Common sense. Instead of come to us only, they should also help educate other customers to be understanding especially kids below 5yo. If you don’t welcome family with kids, please stick a notice out there. We...
