Mala Hot Pot Xinyi Branch — Restaurant in Xinyi District

Typical average mala where you they bring you everything you order. I guess each mala is slightly different. This one has the same wines as the fancy taipei 101 view new Mala but for about 200NT less. The meat is all the same, for beef, only the CAB is good but it's also a little stringy and falls apart, I hope it's not beef that's been "put together" and then sliced. They gave either a high chair or a kids booster. lesson learned, a 1 year old should not be on the kids booster. Baby almost fell over multiple times because it's not attached to anything. Service is prompt and standard for a mala. Maybe a little better than Zhongxiao. However, they seem to be short staffed and many things were falling apart. Bathroom sink was broken (no water) and also no soup. There are was some water spill (as pictured) on the floor for 20 minutes before someone had the time to come over to clean it up. One staff was really busy cutting fruits like for hours on straight. The other good thing for this location is that they don't rush you so people stayed a little longer than 2 hours and got to enjoy the buffet a little more. The never ending strawberries from 12/1 was a nice touch, although the other fruits were wonderful too, the apple pear and the pears were yummy. New haagen daz flavors were blah, the belgium hazlenut had chucks of hazelnut in it and the dark chocolate almond had annoying pieces of hard almonds in it. Skip and skip. Too bad they replaced green tea with these two 😥😥😥 as always, no credit cards. I shall return when they bring back my green tea ice cream!!! Btw afternoon tea promo (299NT for all you can eat curry and ice cream and dessert)...

Too busy eating to take picture. You have 2 hours and too much and many to eat within the time limit. Meats, seafood, and vegetables were in good quality and delicious. All you can drink beer and wine. Only problem is the time limit. The bill for three was about 100USD. Can't beat this place in value.

I am on Taiwan again and visited this place again with my wife. Food is undoubtedly excellent for what you pay. It offers good selection of fruits, cakes, and variety kinds of ice cream as well. After lunch my wife found that she took off her wedding ring during lunch and forgot to put it mlback on. We rushed back to the restaurant and asked the staff about it. The manager went through all the trash we generated and combed through our seating. She found it under the seat! My wife was could not be happier to find her ring. The manager could have easily said "haven't seen it", but she was caring and professional to help the customer in needs. We need more people like her...

Quite a mini disappointment to be honest because firstly, only cash accepted for such a large establishment and in the middle of the city district. Secondly, the soup broth were all below par - including the collagen and even the mala. It was pretty tasteless and bland. The free flow beer, red wine and angus US beef really made up for it. They were all served really fast and had good level of freshness. Otherwise, it would have been a pretty sad experience. Staff was kind and efficient regardless and attentive to our needs. Price is super wallet-friendly so not to worry, but with the subpar soup base, I might just think thrice again before visiting this...
