We used Google to make a reservation here at the new Mala Plus. It is located on the 14th floor of a nice mall with stunning 101 views. Tip: reserve early for lunch on a weekday to secure the window seats that gives you a view of 101 and Xinyi taipei area. We were told that this is the most expensive mala (by a couple dollars) that's why it has the best red and white wine selection. Well it's still wine at a buffet so.... 🤷♀️the angus beef was really good and some of the fish was great too. I think it's not as good as some of the other new malas in terms of seafood selection etc. Haagen daz flavors were not too exciting, I remember the other new Mala in Xinmending and elsewhere had some fancy special edition flavors that were really amazing. Overall if you're a drinker this is insanely worth it. Love the location and love the view. Great service letting us bring a baby in to...
Read moreDo not visit if you’ve no reservation. Restaurant is not full but staff informed need to wait for 2.5h regardless we’re taking 1 big table or 2 smaller tables. We insisted to wait and took the queue number by scanning the QR code. Staff was disappointed since she’s unable to deter us from joining the queue. The inline app shows that we’re the next group and will be seated soon. Waited for 1h and saw the staff talking to the other colleagues and came over to tell us again that it’s not going to be soon as they’ll prioritise groups with reservations. However, we do not see any new customer entering the restaurant within the 1h. Likely, they want to reject our group as we’re a group of 4A4C. Terrible experience. We went over to another hotpot restaurant opposite at level 2 and we got a table pretty soon. Staff service and attitude was also...
Read moreI like Xin Mala. This one is special, on the 14th floor, the view looks out to the surrounding hills and of course 101 in it's full grandeur. Even on a rainy, overcast, October day the view was amazing.
I guess that's what you're paying for here. Food choices are typical for Mala, buffet has a decent spread. However, no fruit.
We loved the CAB beef, cooked to med rare, light dip in sauce, and I could eat piece after piece. Seafood options seemed limited compared to Mala and other Xin Mala. Their dumplings (cheese, seafood, fish balls etc) were quite tasty
Exclusive wines on offer, maybe skip the canteloupe sparkling wine ... Heineken and Taiwan beers on tap.
Epic spread of ice creams, of course.
Bottom line: perfect for visitors because...
