It is recommended to make a reservation beforehand as some dishes need to be ordered in advance. Also best to dine in a group (8 to 10 people) so can order more dishes.
Dishes we order: 神仙排骨 Fairy Pork Ribs - a must order dish! The beef ribs are very tender and the level of mala spice is just right 👍🏻
老皮嫩肉 Tofu - very simple dish yet so delicious, not spicy at all.
(pre-order) 蒜香紙包魚 Garlic Paper-Wrapped Fish - very strong garlic taste, order this if you love garlic!
牙籤小羔羊 Toothpick Lamb - this dish is so spicy that it covers up the smell of lamb, the meat itself is very tender and can still be enjoyed.
(pre-order) 招牌諸葛烤魚 Signature Sichuan Fish - there are many ingredients in it other than the fish such as potato, sweet corn, tofu skin, lotus root, rice cake.. Taste good for mala soup-based dish.
Not very recommended: 金沙玉米 Salted Egg Corn - it is not bad, but taste is average, this is the least favourite among other dishes.
Overall I think the food here is delicious, nothing really fails. There is 10% service charge, but the service is good and the servers are...
Read moreI'm a big fan of Sichuan food, but sadly this place isn't the place for me, both for food and service. I'd called in on a weekend, way before dinner rush hour to order take out, but the lady that had answered the phone was not in the happiest of moods. Most of the stuff that I'd requested, I was told that it would either take too much time to cook or that they were almost out or it just wasn't available. The only thing that I was able to order was the Water Boiled Beef and 4 bottles of their plum juice. When I had gone to pick it up, I was told that 4 bottles might be too much for my family to finish and that I should just buy 2 bottles instead, since those were the only bottles they had left. Quite frankly, I'd had enough by then. I'd paid and went home. The beef was over cooked and hidden under this massive layer of peppercorn. Yes, I said peppercorn because there was very little to no other spices in it. The plum juice should be called plum water instead.
Maybe they were having a bad day, but we all have those. I will definitely not...
Read moreI have been here twice and both times the food was great!
This is probably the most authentic Sichuan restaurant I've found in Taipei so far. Most Sichuan restaurants tend to be too bland and the flavors aren't quite right but the flavors were spot on here.
They use good quality meat for the dishes--everything was tender with no gristle, fat or tendons.
Just went here today and their service was top notch. We ordered the Toothpick Lamb and our order only came with 5 small pieces of lamb. When I brought it up they immediately took the dish back to remake it, brought out a fresh dish with a bunch more meat, gave us free dessert and the whole kitchen team came out to apologize 😅. Definitely above and beyond.
I've also never felt rushed while eating here either. Will definitely be back.
Some great dishes are the Boiled Beef, Hot and Sour Potatoes, Dry Fried Green Beans, Mapo Tofu, Toothpick Lamb and Fuqi Feipian. All really good! The brown sugar jelly dessert was...
