豚知 焼とん道場 — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

One of the few places I'd give a 5 star. A variety of dishes to meet all taste buds, attentive staff, very clean work spaces, real Japanese staff and customers (always a good sign that natives visit and work on site for that authentic flavor and style). They also have outside seating great with the winter weather. Wash this meal down with cold draft beer.

A must try is the fish roe on potatoes! Semi expensive but they don't skip on the portions. The meal came out to about 2500 ntd but we over ordered to try and taste as much as we can. Average price per dish hovers...

Nice vibe at this izakaya, made me feel like in Japan. Ask for a bar counter seat if making reservations! Last visited this restaurant in 2019, we went back again in Oct 2023 and the food is still delicious. Highly recommend the steak with wasabi sauce, very juicy and tender. Perfect Japanese Barbecue of Taipei. The flavour is totally Japanese(ko- to), the boss is totally Japanese, the Sake are totally japanese, that's why you will have Japanese after-work-hour tastes here.

Fried-burdock(with salt), German-sausage(with bone in it), Roasted-pork-cartilage, Bamboo-shrimp-sashimi, and a cup of big icy beer, that is the flavour.
