Shun Chen Bakery — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

This is a fantastic bakery.

I've been trying about 2-4 desserts every day for the past 13 days in Taipei, because America doesn't make good baked foods like Taiwan and Japan does apart from California and New York (sorry other states, but your desserts are TERRIBLE. Stop being proud of making bad desserts! Improve!).

Most of the desserts and baked goods have been good but Shun Chen was clearly in a different league when it comes to classic baked goods. I saw someone complaining about how Shun Chen's baked goods were outdated like their grandma's but if my grandma (rip) made baked goods like this, I would make sure that EVERYONE knew how good her desserts were.

I ate their matcha bread first thing in the morning and WOW. It was GREAT. I went back again at night after have 2 disappointing desserts, bought a few buns, threw them into my hotel fridge, then passed out. I ate them the next day thinking, "what a waste, it's probably not going to be as good as the other 2 desserts I'll have today" and WOW was I wrong. Their red bean and pork floss buns were still SO fragrant after a rough night in the tiny hotel fridge.

This is a fairly standard bakery with a wide selection of mostly savoury bread (they also sells lots of big loaves). However, I was surprised by their coconut bread - they use a lot of coconut and the taste is rich and flavourful. It's my favourite item from this...

日前幫同事在順成雙連店訂蛋糕，訂的時候還特別詢問...來得及隔天中午拿嗎？店員滿口說沒問題（因為冰櫃裡，有的蛋糕看起來不那麽新鮮了，還特地看了一下我要的那個口味，在冰箱裡的那個sample蛋糕上面奶油香的接縫不完整處是在哪一個位置，就怕她那庫存品給我）；隔天去的時候我先看一下冰櫃，果然那個蛋糕不見了，在結帳的當下我要求打開包裝好的蛋糕檢查，發現奶油接縫處完全一模一樣，就是冰櫃裡的那個舊蛋糕！我當下詢問店員，為什麼拿冰櫃裡的舊蛋糕給我，店員還說“你怎麼知道？”，我當下告知冰箱裡面那個不見了而且接縫處在哪個位置，並言若要冰箱裡的那一個，我前一天就可以拿走，不需要再跑這一趟...店員一直狡辯，但看我態度很堅持，就推說要問訂單的人，我請她問清楚，才知道前一天接單的人是店長，店長在電話中告知...我又沒有指定要新的，我當下很生氣並言，你們拿sample 賣客人是事實，還一直狡辯，都是客人的錯嗎？有誰訂蛋糕是去訂一個冰櫃裡舊的....

後來我趕著回去上班，決定退款。 這位店員火速的幫我做退款，一副趕快把瘟神送走的樣子，之後就不干她事的態度。

事後我打去客服反應，客服打不通.. 我寫的email要求回覆，是有人來電，我告知事件過程並嚴重質疑這家店的品管，及人員處理問題的態度..

這位客服無法處理就算了，還要我不要把氣發在他身上....我問他誰可以處理這件事情，他說他要詢問一下，不過她要下班了....之後再回我...至今無人回覆..

這中間我再次去電客服並再次寫email，依舊都無人回覆 ..

這家店從店長到店員及後面的客服人員，都有問題，以前一直以為順成是一個品牌還不錯的老麵包店，現在對他們東西的品質有很嚴重的質疑，...
