Stayed for 5 nights.
Overall a below par hotel for the price paid. Location is good. However, the same can't be said for the services.
Sound proofing is poor. I have a room very near to the reception/check-in counter. So poor that I can even hear the printer!
Room cleaning services is very minimal. Nothing much done by them besides replacing the toiletries & bottled water.
The young man on late night duty on 28 Dec 2024 is rude. Asked us to be quiet when we were not making much noise. He doesn't know that we can even hear them talking at the reception from our room and yet we didn't say a thing! Informed him that the cleaners missed out on replacing the used coffee cup this morning (coffee cups in each room). His reply was that they do not replace the coffee cups! How absurd of him as this is my 5th night at this hotel and they have been doing it for the past 4 days. And when I explained that they have been replacing the used cups for the past few days, he changed his reply and said he is not familiar as he is in charged of night duty only. He definitely needs more training.
As my room is very near to the reception/check-in counter, almost every day I have guests luggages placed at the corridor right outside my door.
Services at Stay Inn Hotel are not worth the price paid. You are probably better off staying at another hotel, which is just a stone's throw away from this, called New City...
Read moreBooked it via Agoda and was surprised the room given to us was nothing like the one shown on Agoda. But the biggest problem however was the soundproofing. This is because on our first night, we could hear the showerhead being used next door. It was as if a glass instead of a wall separated us from next door. Worst was we could also hear laughter and chatter. And this was repeated at 11.30pm, 1.30am, 4am. We knocked on the walls and it sounded like fake walls. So you can imagine...the sound of showering just next to your head when sleeping.
Next day, upon checking with the staff, we were told pictures shown on Agoda is their top 2 biggest rooms. And the room given to us was on level 10, therefore the decor, layout, room size etc. are different. They arranged for us to take a look at level 8's room the next day and we immediately decided to change to level 8 instead because: Everything looks more new and modern Toilet although squeezy had a better flushing system with automation (toilet bowl) Had a couch so we could put our bags and shopping stuff Were being guaranteed better soundproofing Had a PC
Saving grace: Clean room Helpful staff 4 mins walk to Shuanglian station 10mins walk to Ningxia Night Market Had a Family Mart downstairs and 7-eleven...
Read moreHotel was within a building with offices, so was a bit disoriented during arrival. Hotel was decent, bathroom and room during check-in was quite clean. Sheets were a bit dirty though but what you pay is what you get. Was given a room beside the laundry room, so it was also quite noisy even till 9pm. For picky travellers, could mention this during check-in to ask for a change of rooms, but we didn't.
Hotel was within a 5 minute walk from Shuanglian station and a 10 minute walk from Ningxia Night Market, so location was quite good. There was also a family mart conveniently located beside the hotel at level 1.
We checked out 30mins later than the usual check-out time. Understand that we should have checked out earlier, however this is the first hotel in Taiwan that we stayed that charged us a surcharge because we checked out late. (We are frequent travellers to Taiwan) Manager of hotel had initially wanted to charge us the full weekday fee however upon negotiation, we were charged a lesser amount. This late surcharge was not at all mentioned during check-in. Would be good if the hotel staff could mention this and mention that this hotel has a strict check out time.
First and last time staying...
