the food here is actually good. it’s very flavorful despite being vegetarian (except the fried mushrooms which definitely needed more of that salt and pepper seasoning), and the place is clean.
the real problem, however, is the terribly unprofessional service. first they couldn’t find our reservation, then they got the party number wrong, and when we were finally seated we ordered a beer and they just left without giving us menus. none of the workers were rude or anything, but they were very much undertrained or simply negligent.
we decided to sit and wait to see if anyone would ever offer us menus and, after five minutes of nothing, finally decided to flag someone down who merely giggled at the oversight (come on, at least give a 不好意思) and then grabbed two menus from a nearby empty table to plop onto ours—we had a party of three. it took a while before we could get someone to take our order which was strange because the place was far from full (the reasons for which were becoming increasingly clear given that every other restaurant we tried getting a reservation for on this saturday night was fully booked). the waitress asked if we had ordered a beer earlier (yes, and it still hadn’t arrived). ultimately, it took nineteen minutes for us to get a single bottle of 台啤 (yeah, we were so bored waiting that we decided to time it).
once we did finally start getting our food, though, everything was great, and they were really diligent about clearing empty plates.
so is this restaurant worth it? if you’re willing to put up with a potentially bad time in the beginning then sure, but as for me, i’m keeping this place as a very last resort because a poor start can really dampen people’s mood and spirits for the...

Happy National Women’s Day !
Order the food through the menu and also asking the waitress what would recommend, the young waitress said the dishes we order without adding or additional sugar, means beside the soy sauce no sugar adding .
The Fact is... She made the Big Joke ! Most foods we ordered ending up with adding EXTRA Sugar ! Yep , Super Sweet to me on the National Women’s Day Lunch.
Not a good place for any Diabetes!
After they complete serving the 10th dish , approximately 5+ minutes, the younger waitress asking us to pack the food right before 12:50 PM.
At 1310HRS we decided to leave, asking the same younger waitress to pack 3 left over dishes .
She packed them and seperated into 2 different brown paper carring bags.
The SHOCK is one of the carrying bag has lots of small Oil Stains around the lower part , so the upper edge having a 1/2 inches big black stuffs sticking.
This place was described a nice Zen atomsphere restaurant , _ _ _ _ end-up with bad service. & The waitress did not tell the truth of "Adding Extra...
Read moreThis restaurant is part of the 善菓餐飲總公司 GOOD DEEDS group, and the quality is definitely on par with the rest of their restaurants. The menu is Chinese cuisine, most similar to Delisoys (上善豆家), but doesn't have the dim sum choices. However, Zen Tea dishes also feel more refined despite their similar pricing. Whereas Delisoys has a more casual vibe, Zen Tea is more spacious and is great for larger family gatherings (they do have a couple of private table areas).
The food leans heavy into the traditional Chinese flavors, and they have enough variety that we've been able to order different things each time we've been there, and everything has been great so far. The stewed tofu goes well with rice because the soup tastes just like braised meat stew my grandma used to make. I want to commend you for making food that both vegetarians and...
