Not recommended.
The rooms are fine, and I can see that they’ve considered travelers’ convenience in many ways. However, I would not recommend this hotel for two reasons.
Reception Attitude
The reception staff really need proper training. Why do they keep cutting off guests while they’re speaking? Two particular situations made me very uncomfortable.
During check-in, the receptionist was explaining a room upgrade. Since I was traveling alone, I didn’t really care about the room type, so I said, “Thank you for offering, but I don’t…” and right in the middle of my sentence, they interrupted me and jumped straight into the next explanation. I was still talking. It was really awkward and felt rude, not just a cultural difference.
Another time, I ordered delivery food because I couldn’t go out due to my schedule. When I went to pick it up at the reception, one of the staff asked if I needed chopsticks. Just as I was about to answer, another guest walked in, and both receptionists immediately turned their full attention to that person, completely ignoring me. It was extremely frustrating. I understand that the other guest was Western, but still if you ask a question, at least wait for the answer.
Later, I ordered food again and left a note on the app asking the delivery person to leave it at the reception, and for the reception to send it up to my room with my room number provided. I got the delivery notification, waited 15 minutes (last time it took them around 10 minutes to bring cutlery), but even after 20 minutes nothing came. When I went downstairs, my food was just sitting on the counter. I asked, “I left a note in the app for the food to be sent to my room. Why didn’t you follow my request?” The staff seemed confused and said they hadn’t seen any note. Maybe I wasn’t clear, or maybe they didn’t understand. Since neither of us spoke English as a first language, it could have been a miscommunication. But what surprised me most was that they didn’t even call my room to let me know the food had arrived. Isn’t it normal to notify the guest? That part was really disappointing.
Poor Pool Maintenance
One of the main reasons to choose this hotel would be the swimming pool, but it was honestly a mess. The tiles on the outer edge were broken, and I even stepped on one while swimming—really scary because I worried I might get cut. The footbath before entering the pool looked dirtier than my own feet, so I didn’t want to use it. The women’s sauna also seemed to be closed when I was there.
On top of that, the staff’s tone at the pool felt intimidating, not welcoming. And every time I went, I saw other guests with bottled water, but for some reason I was never given any. I just went back to my room to drink water instead.
And the bathtub kept leaking water no matter how I tried to block it. I even used a bath bomb, but the water drained away and it ended up being a complete waste.
If these issues don’t bother you, this hotel might work since the area is quiet at night (it seems like an office district). But personally, I don’t think I’ll return.
+When I booked through Klook, the policy clearly stated that children were not allowed to stay. However, I saw kids at the hotel. I still don’t understand how that...
Read moreOpened in 2022, this hotel is still relatively new and well-maintained, offering a clean and pleasant environment. It’s conveniently located near Songjiang Nanjing Station, just a 5-minute walk from MRT exits 1, 2, or 3—an ideal base for getting around the city.
The rooms are moderately sized and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom and shower areas are separated, with the shower space offering both a walk-in shower and a bathtub, which is a nice touch. The work desk is a long table, though it’s worth noting that the television is mounted above it—making it difficult to watch TV while working.
Instead of a traditional bedside table, there’s a long wooden ledge above the headboard where you can place your items. A particularly thoughtful detail is the pillow selection: one soft and one firmer pillow are provided, allowing guests to choose based on personal preference. Overall, the stay was comfortable, and I especially appreciated the absence of carpeting, which made the room feel cleaner and more hygienic.
One area that could be improved is the bathroom amenities. The dispensers for toiletries are rather cumbersome to use, making showering slightly inconvenient. Also, the showerheads are fixed at two separate positions and cannot be adjusted vertically, which may not suit everyone’s height or preference.
One quirky design feature in the room is the placement of the wardrobe inside the bathroom. Even more unusually, the wardrobe and bathroom share the same door. This means that if you close the door while showering, steam from the shower can accumulate and get absorbed by the clothes inside the wardrobe. To avoid this, it’s advisable to keep the door slightly open during showers.
Breakfast at the hotel is a highlight. It follows a semi-buffet style: guests can order a main dish and help themselves to fruits, salad, porridge, or soup from the buffet bar. The steak option is highly recommended—thinly sliced but expertly seared to a tender and flavorful finish. However, it’s quite popular and tends to run out quickly, so go early if you want to try it. Staff throughout the hotel were polite and courteous, enhancing the overall experience.
Facilities include an indoor swimming pool and a compact gym, which has only two treadmills. That said, the space is very clean and well-maintained.
All in all, this hotel offers great value with its convenient location and comfortable amenities. It’s especially ideal for MRT travelers, though do note that it lacks a formal drop-off point for ride-hailing services like Uber. Don’t miss the breakfast—it’s definitely worth...
