Jolly Brewery + Restaurant衡陽店 — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Randomly picked a restaurant nearby to feed my empty stomach. No idea what to order ‘cause Thai food is not my top choice. But, this restaurant completely changed my impression of Thai food. We ordered Green Curry Chicken which was creamy not very spicy and had a touch of basil fragrance. Very good to go with rice! The Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste was not salty as other places but you still tasted the savory of shrimp. The best dish was the Fried Fish fillet with Lemongrass Sauce. Fillets were lightly fried and immersed in the lemongrass sauce with served hot to the table. The sauce was watery just like soup, so I scooped to my bowl to drink. It was very delicious. This restaurant was really good! We had a party of 8 with reservations and had no issues when we arrived. They also informed us right in the beginning that if we wanted the braised ribs that we should order that right away as it takes a while. I am absolutely glad that we ordered it as it was delicious! As a beer drinker I certainly had a good time with the selection and will definitely need to come back to try out all the different varieties. My kids liked the fish dishes which generally means it was fresh and not over-cooked. They had a decent selection of desserts which I always love how Asia sweets are lighter and not too sweet unlike their American counterparts. We were craving for some Thai food so off to Google we searched nearby, surprisingly this unfamiliar name of shop has, in my opinion one of the best Thai flavoured food in Taiwan. Fish, vege are very Thai, wished the portion could be bigger though. We also ordered papaya salad, looks and tasted slightly different but still appetizing. Lastly the creme Brule is excellent, love it so much, and one of the strong reason to come back next time!
