I had a Classic Set ($668) and I chose Roasted Steak for main course, Potato Salad With Shrimp, Chowder for soup, Chocolate Puffs for dessert and Black Tea with Crème Brûlée Powder. The Shrimp with Scallops Curry Yogurt Sauce (appetiser), Gratined Mushrooms + Bread Toasts and SAWA were fixed in the set. Furthermore, if you write a Google review like I did, you can get a Changpane or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Potato Salad With Shrimp: The shrimp was chewy, cool and delicious. The potatoes also tasted amazing with the salad sauce and had good texture.
Black Tea with Crème Brûlée Powder: The thin tiny crispy layer of crème brûlée powder on the top was so delicious. After stirring the cream under the layer with the tea, it really got perfect.
Gratined Mushrooms + Bread Toasts: They were nicely toasted and quite of crunchy texture. If butter were provided, the bread toasts would be the best of the best. Furthermore, you can also add more bread if you want to eat more. Furthermore, I didn’t like mushrooms as always so only eating the toasts. However, the staff passionately told me that I could exchange that for another side dish such as dessert or drink or salad; hence, I substituted the mushrooms for a Brulee (dessert).
SAWA: It tasted 90% the same as lemonade or lemon smoothie but slightly sweeter. Simply put, this was just a lemonade smoothie with lots of sugar added. Nevertheless, the sweetness level was still lower than honey lemonade.
Chowder: The clams were fresh and went well with the soup. The soup itself was very thick, so I didn’t drink much.
Roasted Steak (well-done): Even though the steak looked kinda small in size, it actually was very thick. The beef was very TASTY, tender and juicy. The peppers on the top made it taste superior to most of the other steak. If you dip them into the sauce provided, it became even more delicious, especially the special sauce that had butter as ingredient but pepper sauce was also TASTY. However, it wasn’t so easy to cut due to its great thickness.
Chocolate Puffs: The puffs had great texture with the chocolate cream and the fruit topping was also fresh and icy. The sugar piece was quite crispy but a bit more rigid than expected.
Brulee (exchanged from the mushroom): The tiny crispy layer had always been the main reason why I liked this brûlée. The pudding inside also tasted nice, gluey, soft and sweet.
In conclusion, the service was excellent and all the foods and the drink I had were relatively TASTY of course even though the price was above average. In my opinion, the classic set is the most economical meal here already. Overall it’s definitely a...
Read moreI had the classic set menu, which is filling and includes many items. The food was bland and completely uninteresting, which was somewhat expected taken into account the relatively cheap price and western style of food. The steak itself was super stringy and tasteless. The highlight of my dinner were the crispy truffel french fries that I ordered as an extra. The space is large and noisy without anything special. There’s only one beer option.
Ate here on Friday evening. When queueing the waiter didn’t initially pay me any attention when it was my turn to be taken to the table. Only after I asked was I taken to the table. I’d strip away all the unnecessary, tasteless sides that together form the menu and rather focus on a couple dishes to make them good. Now the food is just a mess without...
Read moreThank you Miss Huang Ling for being my server! She is super sweet and speak very good English (as I am a tourist myself who unfortunately does not speak Taiwanese). If you make a Google review while you are here at the restaurant, they will give you free ice cream! Which couldn’t say no to that :-). The environment and service is awesome! The servers are very straightforward, polite, and do their job well.
Although, there is one thing that they made a mistake on… My drink order was a peach tea, however, I received some sort of hibiscus or equivalent tea. Nonetheless, it was still delicious tea, and I enjoyed it.
For FYI…I had the roasted steak medium well pumpkin soup fruit salad crèmebrûlée and the free...
