I recently dined at Namaste Restaurant in Dar es Salaam, and I must say, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. To begin with, the restaurant is not spacious at all. The outdoor seating area, which they offer, is dangerously close to the road and car parking. I felt like I was risking my safety just to enjoy a meal.
The quality of the food was well below average, and the portion sizes were disappointingly small, especially considering the exorbitant prices they charge compared to other restaurants in Masaki. It's unacceptable to pay a premium for subpar dishes.
The lack of supervision of the staff was evident as there was a considerable delay in attending to customers and taking orders. The servers appeared disorganized and overwhelmed. To make matters worse, it was clear that they had no knowledge about the dishes on the menu, making it impossible to get recommendations or clarify any questions about the food.
During my visit, I noticed that one of the glasses on my table was broken. This is not only a safety hazard but also a clear indicator of the restaurant's lack of attention to detail and cleanliness.
The wash area left much to be desired as well. It is a tiny space located adjacent to the toilets, and while it may be clean, it cannot be locked from the inside, which is not only inconvenient but also a privacy concern.
As if all of this wasn't enough, the live band they had was nothing short of pathetic, and it was accompanied by a poor audio system, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the music or hold a conversation without yelling.
In conclusion, Namaste Restaurant in Dar es Salaam falls short on multiple fronts. The lack of space, the unsafe outdoor seating, the poor food quality, the inadequate portion sizes, the untrained staff, the broken glassware, the subpar wash area, and the dismal live entertainment all make for a dining experience that is far from satisfactory. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience to steer clear of this establishment. There are far better options...

Read moreI just had the most incredible experience at Namaste Restaurant during the World Cup finals with my family. We had such a lovely time there! The ambience was absolutely amazing, and the staff were so polite and attentive. We couldn't resist trying the Sheesha and it was fantastic. We also indulged in a few cocktails which were absolutely amazing. Now, let me tell you about the food... We ordered the mix veg platter and it was out of this world! It had a little bit of everything and the flavors were just perfect. We also tried the chicken Afghani, chicken malai tikka, fish finger, tangadi kebab, paneer tikka masala, Palak paneer, mutton kheema masala, and butter garlic prawns. And the breads... oh my goodness, they were so soft and just melted in our mouths. It was an unforgettable culinary experience. I can't recommend Namaste...
