A gem! Hidden in a secluded garden, shaded by huge trees, this unpretentious open air restaurant offers delicious, authentic indian food, with a fast and friendly service. Its clean, quiet and welcoming, No frills here, just good food, in generous portions. I recommend the cheese naan, oozing with cheese and served piping hot, roganjosh was also delicious, basmati rice fluffy to perfection. They also serve a very decent fresh lime juice, perfect for those hot days. Waiters went out of their way to accommodate our requests and spoke very good English. Visa, Mastercard and other cards can be used. There is a big playground under the trees, and the car park has enough shade too. Prices are soft, and one really feels that there is value for money here. Service is very fast, so even if you are pressed for time, I can highly recommend this place.

This Indian restaurant offers a wide range of traditional dishes, with a particular focus on South Indian cuisine. The biryani, which is topped with a dome-shaped bread crust and creates an exciting sizzle when served, is particularly impressive both visually and in terms of its generous portion size. However, the spices have been toned down to suit the predominantly Western clientele in this upscale residential area. The relaxed and inviting atmosphere features a covered outdoor area that is ideal for groups looking to enjoy lively meals together. The service is efficient and friendly, with waitresses who are experienced in catering to international guests. While the prices are quite high, the quality of the food and the setting justify the cost for those seeking a refined Indian dining experience. # Dar es Salaam # Tanzania

Flames Hotel in Dar es Salaam is a great destination for those who enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. Located conveniently at 40 Msasani Road, it offers a relaxing atmosphere with outdoor seating. The food is delicious, with a variety of vegetarian and vegan options available. The staff is attentive, and the service is generally good, though there’s room for improvement during busy hours. The flavors are authentic, making it a top choice for Indian food lovers in the area. A must-visit for a cozy dining experience in Dar es Salaam!

Amazing experience is what I can say in short. From starters to desserts and everything I between, the experience was simply mouthwatering. Roshan, the Manager, has the qualities of managerial skills to be proud of. Whilst we were dining, the restaurant owner, Mr. Chandarana, popped over to the table to ask if everything was OK. The music by the well renowned DJ's of Dar-es-salaam, Satu/ Modi Was pleasing to the ears. All in all, a fabulous night of fine dining and music. Thanks to the entire team at Flames for making our last night in Tanzania so memorable. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone in Dar es salaam or anyone visiting...
